Ok this may be an Idea that is a bit out there but after reading Slinkyman's story , An idea popped into my little gnome brain.

If a letter writing campaign by all of my friends could get the word Gnome added to the Dictionary, then would a letter writing campaign get a little boys wishes to come true.

So here is my big idea:

We all know that Slinkyman wants to meet Yavn and that Slink is going to WDW in a few weeks. So i urge all of the DIS people to write a short note to "contact us " on the home page and ask Yavn if he would meet Slink at WDW to make his dream come true. I know this is a lot to ask of you but I think by doing this it would put the icing on Slink's recovery cake.

I know that some people are not the best at writing letters so here is the copy of the letter i am sending to the black hole. Feel free to copy it and use it as you own.

Dear Yavn,

It has come to my attention that there is a young boy, that plays VMK that is in the process of recovering from cancer, One of his dreams is to meet you. He will be in WDW as part of a make a wish trip on april 18th through april 20th before boardinga Disney cruise. If there is any way possible, could you please help make this boy's dream come true? After all magic is what VMk and Disney is all about. If you would like more information about Slinkyman please feel free to read the VMk section of DISBOARDS.

Count me in Grumpy! I was trying to think of what i could do to make this happen and this is so simple. Leave it to the gnome to come up with a brilliant idea. Sorry i crashed this morning while trying to get in to see you. I got the white box of doom only after about five minutes of being logged in. I hope that doesn't happen to me all day. anyway i will send the letter as soon as i get home. Thanks for the idea Grumpy.

He puts you in the same category as Walt Disney and Croc Hunter. Fortunately you are still alive

Well I know he can do something so lets see those contact us flooding VMK for Slink. For most do not know how hard a fight is is to beat cancer. And the pain and fear they face. I can not imagine doing it as an ancient person so I admire all kids who fight this battle.

Do you think it would be more effective to write to Paul Yanover? My concern here is that the Sulake employees will be the ones getting it for the most part. With paul, he works straight with yavn at WDPRO. I will be happy to send to either, though

Ears sending it to either one or both would be great! I didnt want to flood Mr Yanover's mail by telling people to send it there, butis you have the addy then by all means send it to him

I am taking the kids to see "the spider and the pig movie" right now, but I will send something in when I get back..

I have FF miles I am willing to toss Yavn's way, and I suppose I could even put him up at a DVC resort for a couple of nights if needed.... Think there is a shot he would take me up on it??

Paul Yanover no longer is Yavn direct boss, and a letter writting campaign should be directed to Yavn.

About Sulake - they are the ones who operate the contact us, since the VMK_ and HOST_ are employees of that company, not disney. I am sure they have contact with yavn though, so sending it there is probably fine, I was just concerned about them never reading it or never getting a response

Not sure where you are getting that info from but that is not my understanding.

As you can see I do not post alot for as long as I have been here. But I do read everything. Everybody here is amazing the way they help and work together and I just had to say this. I will be sending a letter too.
Grumpy, I hope to meet the "Great Gnome" someday on VMK because there is no way that he can be the "Grumpy Gnome !!!

I am sorry I removed Mr.Yanovers email addy from the players guide since due to the last letter writing campaign Disney asked us to remove it from another thread because he email was being flooded and since he is not Yavn direct boss I feel it would be more productive to forward all mail to Yavn himself.

Which could be accomplished by this thread or by going to his BLOG.

Ears I want to get this post back on Topic . Its all about Slinkyman NOT who works for who. I appreciate your other mailing options but for me, since most of us are familiar with the VMK homepage, I will continue to urge people to contact Yavn through there. Thanks for your understanding
