DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Sounds like you really know how to celebrate!

I'm missing our Christmas cookies and candy this year. DIL always makes them, and she just can't do it this year. She's really kind of funny--she tried washing the dinner dishes last night because she feels bad that she can't do much right about now and she couldn't get close enough to the sink! She has to sit sideways at the table or she can't reach her plate, she can't drive now because she can't fit behind the wheel and still reach the gas pedal! She goes to the doctor in about an hour and a half from now and she's hoping they'll tell her that they'll take the babies on Friday. I think they'll tell her to hang in a bit longer, although the babies are very close to five pounds each right now.

Beth

Keep us updated!! Are you guys set in the house and have everything you need for the newest additions??

We're as set as we can be. We switched some rooms around and the babies will have their own room. We have so much stuff that our house looks like a baby store! I have no idea if we have everything we need, but it looks like we have enough stuff for ten babies:scared1:!

DS called about 10 minutes ago and said the doctor set up another appointment for two weeks from today, but said he expects to see them MUCH sooner, and wouldn't say any more than that. Everyone is healthy, and that's what counts!

Talk about bringing back memories.

Happy Holidays to all !!!!!!

Happy Holidays everyone!

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Jennifer. And Beth, I can't wait to hear the latest on the twins.

I don't think I ever told you about the new Stitch attraction at DLRP. It's like Turtle Talk with Crush on steroids - absolutely hilarious!

We went to Morocco, Spain, and Portugal on the Norwegian Jade earlier this month. I really liked the Jade. The ship had a real family feel to it, which I think came from the Capt. He showed up at our Meet and Greet to say hello, and I saw him all over the ship during the cruise. Jasmine really liked the kids club. We did a Family Amazing Race - which we won! - that was really fun. And they have a Youth Spa program, so Jasmine and I got mother/daughter facials! They didn't have the Disney "magic" of course, but we're looking forward to going back on the Jade next year when we go to Egypt.

Jasmine is snowboarding in Germany with her Dad and big sis, and I'm getting ready for a New Years cruise on Carnival. It'll be the first cruise I've taken without J in a long time, but I think it'll be fun.

It sure has been great keeping in touch with all of you this past year. I hope you all have a happy, healthy 2009! If DCL announces the New Ship itineraries later this year, then maybe we can plan a reunion cruise!

Merry belated Christmas! and Happy and Properous 2009!

How cute!

We still don't have any new family members, but in a day or two I'll be posting our Christmas pictures with our already existing family members.

We thought for sure they would be born on Christmas. DIL even had labor pains all day, and they were just at the point where the doctor told her she would have to go the hospital and they stopped. Now she's still having some pains now and then, and she goes back to the doctor tomorrow. Tuesday is our anniversary (#36!!!), and that would be a really nice gift, wouldn't it?

Beth

Well...best wishes with the upcoming babes!! And congrats on 36..that is a milestone!!

Merryl-Congrats on the puppy!!! I can't wait to get mine this Saturday!!!
Beth-Sorry you didn't get the Christmas present you wanted, but keep up posted on how the twins are!!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Oooooo...what kinda are you getting??

He's a Zuchon; a planned mix between a Shih-Tzu and a Bichon Frise. Here are a couple pictures that the breeder emailed us a couple weeks ago. By my calculations, he should be around 8 weeks old now. We finally decided on a name for him; we obviously wanted a Disney "flair" to it. We were trying to decide between Stitch, Mickey, Walle, Tigger, Pooh Bear, and Koda. We decided that since one of the nicknames for Zuchons are "Teddy Bear" dogs, we went with Koda (from Brother Bear.)

Instead of "baby fever", everyone seems to have "puppy fever". ;) Our children keep asking for another dog or a cat. If we do get one, it won't be until next Christmas. However, looking at all the cute new pooches, I could be easily persuaded.

Robby and Tina - That puppy is so adorable. How big will he get? When you listed the names, Koda stuck out. :thumbsup2 Very cool. We almost adopted a Bichon Frise at the animal shelter, when we got our current dog. It was a ball of white fur with the cutest face. Have fun picking him up on Saturday. Being so new, it will be like having a new baby in the house. Good Luck!

Merryl - Your new addition to the family is so cute too!!! Is it a Black Lab? If so, they are sooooooooo good with kids. I bet your children have already fallen in love with him/her. Have fun with your new family member.

Beth - Is your DDIL waiting to have the first new babies of 2009? We're keeping our fingers crossed for y'all this evening. I can't imagine carrying two babies around for as long as she has. I am sure she is ready to deliver. We will keep your DDIL and the babies in our prayers for an easy delivery.

Wendy - With all your travels, you need to write a book or two or three ... ;) If we can't be there, at least we can live vicariously through you. Please give Jasmine our best. Emily loved seeing her in September and we hope to sail with you again sometime in the future. :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 We had an interesting Sunday night ... As previously posted, we were on our way to a little town called Granbury. They have a town square with little shops and have a park nearby that is decorated for the holidays. We had a nice dinner and then decided to walk over to the park to see the lights. We were about to take a picture when Emily decided to stick her head through one of the light displays. :scared: Well our designated family "oopsy" got her head stuck. When I pulled her head out, her left ear got caught on some wire and cut a pretty deep cut behind her ear. I felt soooooooo bad. :sad1: She was crying hysterically. I looked at it in the light and knew we had to get it stiched up. So, we rushed her to the closest Emergency Room (love our GPS!!!!!!).

:scared1: Being at this little town's ER was like something out of a movie. I can look back and laugh at it now. But, at the time, I was a little freaked out. While waiting in one of the treatment rooms, we see a man walk by in a hospital gown and handcuffs. Not too far behind him was a Sheriff. Then, when the doctor confirmed she needed to stitch up the ear, she "casually" mentioned her hand shakes and that she couldn't become a surgeon because of it. :lmao: Both Bill and I laughed because we thought she was joking. :sad2: Well, she wasn't. I cringed as she tried to use the little hook and stitch up Emily's ear. I wasn't 100% confident on the stitches. So, I had my neighbor, a nurse, look at them the next day. She said they were fine since they are behind Emily's ear. However, if they were somewhere visible like a head/face, she would've had them re-done. Emily started freaking out when they needed to numb the area. I don't blame her. I hate shots too. Who doesn't? I was not going to subject Emily through that traumatic experience again if it was not needed.

:thumbsup2 She is doing better today and can't wait to show off her ear next week at school. She definitely won't be doing any ear modeling anytime soon. It was the same ear she damaged a few days before our 2007 WDW trip and cruise.

It's never a dull moment over here!!!! :rotfl:

She is a black lab mix. Her back paws have white and so does her tummy. She is the sweetest little thing!! kids love her and she loves them!! I had 2 of these mixes when I was a kid also. Her name is Chrissy. That was the name of my first lab mix.

Oy kids!! Sounds like something my little one would do!! He has had stiches once, and DD 2 times. We always requested a plastic surgeon do them!! Thankfully that has always been possible.

We're still waiting....and waiting....and waiting....

She's having labor pains again, this time they're pretty strong, but still no need to go rushing off to the hospital. Right now, DDIL and DS are busy putting the last of the nursery furniture together. I wonder if she was just waiting until the room was finished? All the clothes are in the drawers, and within a little while all the furniture will be ready. Now if she would just get herself together and go and have these babies so that life could get back to normal.....;)

Jennifer: I hope Emily's ear heals well. I'm sure she (and you)were very upset by the whole thing!

Jim and I are trying very hard to stay up until midnight to watch the festivities from Times Square, and watch all those poor people freezing out there in the 1 degree temperatures!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Well I guess the new tax deductions will wait for this year!! I hope she has an easy labor...or as easy as they can be. I was alseep before midnight. Hal kissed me though and woke me up!! I promptly fell back asleep.

DS25 asked his girlfriend's parents for her hand in marriage yesterday!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

He is gonna go ring shopping this weekend. My FDIL, knows nothing about it yet!! Everyone else does though!!

Bill if you are reading this STOP! Birthday surprise spoiler alert!!!!!!!

pirate: Bill informed me he does NOT want to go to WDW for his 40th birthday in June. But, he didn't say he didn't want to go to DLR. ;) So, I have started pricing and working out a trip to Disneyland Resort in California for this June. :cool1:

:worship: I need your help if you have been to Disneyland in California. I've priced the trip for DLR hotels and Good Neighbor hotels. I wanted to know if anyone has stayed at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel or Best Western Park Place Inn? Also, why is the Disneyland Hotel more than Paradise Pier? I thought DH was older. Does anyone have any "Good Neighbor" hotels they recommend? There seems to be a BIG difference in price to stay on-property. However, pretty much everyone on the Disneyland threads says it really is NOT worth staying in a Disney hotel. Any suggestions or opinions?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions. :goodvibes

:surfweb: Jennifer

PS - Bill called today to book our after-cruise lodging. We're "officially" booked at AKV (Kidani Village - Two-Bedroom Savannah-View) for before and after our cruise in November/December. If possible, we plan to switch the after cruise lodging to Bay Lake Tower.)
