DIS Ladies Only Meet 2006 Weight Loss Challenge - Starts March 28

hello princess michelle my homie.

so glad to see you posting.

like i said before and will repeat, i have missed you and so have the others here.

depression is a toughie.
but, exercise, eating right and proper sleep help you when depression kicks in. exercise releases seratonin and endorphins in the brain which helps moods stay more even.

i am pleased to hear you are doing the gyn. even 18 minutes on a treadmill is better than nothing. heck, even a 10 minute walk is a start to a new beginning.

i know you will overcome the issues you have facing you. you will come out stronger over all of this.

what doesn't kill you , will make you stronger.

yea princess michelle...........you can do it !!

oh yea, i had some surgery and off curves for another week.
but, i will be back exercising by the end of the month.

hey princess good to see you posting.

i lost weight from not eating after having the surgery and wouldn't you know it, ate last night and gained back 2 lb out of the 5 i lost the last 4 days.

will have to wait until the morning to get on the scale for an official weigh in.

catch yu all in the morning

Good morning everyone. Sorry I haven't posted much this past week.

Michelle, I am glad you are starting to feel better.

Today's weigh in day.

So, I don't know who will care or not, but one of the prizes for the Ladies WISH is going to be the top three will get to go to the Princess Meet and Greet like I did.

I decided to add this in there since I think Cinderellabration goes away when the latest celebration goes away so there probably won't be a chance to do something like that again.

Michelle, you'll see that scale moving next week. I am sure of it. :thumbsup2

The Princess Meet and Greet is something that a friend of mine that works at Disney set up for me when I was in town last month. Basically its a private meet and greet with all the Princes and Princesses in the Cinderellabration show (except if Cinderella is having lunch like she did when we were there- I heard usually she is there though)

You go in and you can get your pics taken with each of them, and then like we did, we got one with all of them.

I thought it was kind of cool because its not something everyone gets to do all the time, like anyone can go to a character meal and meet them individually and get their picture taken, this to me was more intimate. Not to mention the princes! (Aladdin was a hottie - the picture does not do him justice) Here is the pic:

PrincessPic.jpg

I would not take offense that they did not ask you. Perhaps you live too far away. :)

hey, we have a REAL princess here among us.
princess michelle.

i vote she gets to see her relatives .............

ok, got up at 5:10 and left the house at 5:20 to the hospital lab tests today.
they opened at 6:30 but i had to get there early and stand in line. it is first come first serve sign in. 20 minutes after i arrived the line became long.

15 people and when i had my turn and got out at 6:55, there were 17 in the lobby waiting for their turn. they had 3 lab techs doing tests.

so, i weighed myself after drinking water and it shows all together i lost 2 lbs this week. it was a larger number but i started on eggs and lots of soft food on sunday night.

i will take the 2 lb loss.

i know michelle will have those scales move south on her next weigh in time. i just know it !!

good luck to all of you that are participating. this is something we will be successful in and we will feel like new woman be it a 10 loss or more.

don't worry about making goals...........think of a healthy life change and in the long run, you will hit the goal you have set for yourself.

Mac, I am glad you were able to get out of there quickly. I hope everything turns out o.k.

Honestly, for me, I already feel like I have had some success because I started at 9 pounds more than I weigh now. (6 since we started the actual weight loss challenge). So that's 9 pounds more that I weighed in mid-March than I do here now in mid-June. Frankly anything less than what I was when we started would have made me happy. I know I can do better but the fact that I have done what I have so far is great too.

All we can do is keep trying. I said this before but the only way we'll fail is if we don't try at all.

Okay so this week I gained 2 lbs. I need to stop flp flopping between these pounds. This week I'm going to drink much more water then I have been stick to my little food plan and the biggest thing of all do my walking!!!!

Good Morning Ladies!!

Well I weighed in at 149.5, sounds stupid but I cried a little. I also lost 1/2" in my waist and hips (always had big ladies so not sure they will ever get smaller). :teeth:

I found a picture of me just 3 1/2 years ago where I only weighed 100 and then I packed on 60 lbs, the doctors and I couldn't figure out why. They ran all kind of test and could find nothing so I guess it was just hitting that 50 year old mark and my matabolism (sp) just slowing down.

I really want to thank you ladies for the support that you have given. Without you I don't think that I could have lost what I have. Ya'll have me in awe of how ya'll just get in there and do what needs to be done to lose weight. You do your exercise, something that I still have a problem doing (you would think chasing the twins around would be exercise enough.) :lmao:

Kat I want to thank you for getting this whole thing together because it really does help to have people with you that are going through the same thing.

I am now going to stop writing my novel and wish everyone good luck on their weigh in. Congrats to those who lost, congrats to those who stayed the same and any that might have gained, I have done that through this entire process and you just keep on trying because it will come. :grouphug:

wendy, don't fret over a 2 lb gain, i have been there myself in past years when i diet.

it is hard to believe but lots of water flushes the body out and reduces your appetite. since the day before my surgery, i have been drinking between 9 to 14 bottles of water daily. at that point, my urine was clear which is a very healthy sign. yellow color means you are not getting enough fluids.

the kidneys work overtime when you are dieting. you have to keep them flushed. when you exercise or diet, you must increase your water intake.

wendy, work yourself up to 5 bottles of water a day and hold at that until you are comfortable with it. when i started the diet, i only drank 3 bottles of water daily. it just wasn't my thing. i make myself drink a lot.
you will notice your appetite is curbed when you feel full.

in order to maintain and hopefully drop weight this week, i will not eat anyfood after 7pm. now i go bck to the surgeon tomorrow morning and i can resume a regular diet depending on what he says. i have a hole in the floor of my mouth and can't get food in it as it will go straight to my gland.
once he closes it up tomorrow (hopefully) to a small slit, i can eat chalupas.

i know i will go overboard on the food when that happens so i will not eat past 7 pm. i love to snack on cheetos and pb and crackers, or mayo on saltines while i am dising at night.

i think once a month i need to change one habit i have regarding food in order to maintain my weight.

i wish all of you happiness and good health. whatever you lose this week is going to bring you closer to your goal.

kat said it all. she is happy she weighs less today than in the months prior.
that is such a happy, good feeling !!

CONGRATS!!! I will prolly cry when I hit a land mark weight loss myself. :grouphug: She's right Ladies! Just keep going. :teeth: Kat, I want to thank you too. Before you guys I had no support system at all. It's good to know that you all are here and to know that you all care. Everyone try their best this week!!!!

 Thanks Mac so much for your kind words and advice. The water thing is really weird cause I usually drink water all day long... When I sat here thinking about last week I think I recall a few days where I hardly had anything to drink. My bottom lip started to become cracked and that's when I realized that I havent been getting enough water to drink. It's weird how I can forget about it sometimes. I love water, so it won't be a big deal for me to drink a lot. :teeth:

YOu can do it Wendy!

I'm bad on the weekends about the water. We are on well water so I have a tendency not to drink. I did buy some bottles but forget them too. I'm great at work though, I have a Bubba Mug that holds all the water I need so I fill it up in the morning and drink on it all day. Everyone laughs at my mug but it works for me. :teeth:

Good morning ladies! I thought I would stop here today before going to the chat thread...I feel like I should come and post here more, it will keep me motivated.

I have been losing steadily the past few weeks! I realized today that I have lost a total of 58 pounds since I gained so much weight after having my daughter. I weighed 227 when I joined Weight Watchers. I am now 169. I need to be at least 129 to be in a healthy range, so i have a ways to go. This challenge has brought out the competitor in me and I want that prize :teeth: :wizard: I got rid of nutrisystem and I am back on Weight Watchers! I love Weight Watchers! I could see myself gaining weight after nutrisystem...WW is something that is a lifetime program.

I think that all of us are doing great! I think even a 1/2 pound loss is an accomplishment!! Remember, one pound equals 3500 calories. That is a lot to get rid of!!

Good luck to everyone here! I hope we can all reach our goals! :grouphug: :Pinkbounc

Awesome January. I remember a friend from probably around 20 years ago who did weight watchers (changed a lot since then) and right after she weighed in she would eat whatever she wanted that day and then the next day she was right back on it for the rest week.
