Weather report from South Fl. Tonight on beach 39 with wind chill 24-32. Inland where Betsy is MUCH COLDER as usual. I have an extra blanket on my bed. I woke this morning freezing. The windows were open as usual, but they are closed tonight. We have winds about 25 mph gusting to almost 50, that is freezing buns cold.

I should HOPE you've got the windows closed!! DAT's cold! They will find poor Betsy mummified in a cocoon!! It's 12 right now on my back steps (-2 with the wind chill they're saying). Calling for a high of 29 today. BUT it is supposed to warm up to the 40's tomorrow and mid-upper 50's over the weekend before cooling back off into the 40's for next week. DH and I have had to take a crow bar to my pond a couple of times this winter...never before has it frozen up like this...it was AT LEAST 6" thick and my heater cannot keep the hole open for the oxygen...we busted up one end a couple of times and pulled out the ice...but I can't tell if my fish are still alive under there or not. Anxious for it to thaw so I can look for my fish.


Hey, BTW Anne, how's the kitchen remodel going? Are they 'bout done yet?? Got any pics?

Wow, Ann! You FL peeps are tougher than we think. You had windows open? I'm glad you shut them now though.

We are going to be in the 40's this weekend...heatwave! For now, not so much. I started my workout this morning and the tv was showing 5 degrees. By the time I finished it was down to 4 (thats before windchill). I think we all need some....

It is supposed to be in the 70's here this week end. Yahoo!
Kitchen is finished if the electrician will get his act together and finish his work. Three trips out and I still have no electricity to my new microwave, dishwasher or garbage disposal. I yelled at him today and told him I was not a happy camper. I also called the contractor and relayed the same message.

Bump!! Almost to page 3 peeps!

So I went to Target yesterday & got stuff to put a goodie box together for BIL & got it mailed out today. I used one of the P.O. Flat Rate boxes...packed it FULL of goodies... Found out BIL has access to a microwave nearby and he has a coffee pot...so sent coffee & popcorn, "warm delights" desserts....tuna & wraps....pizza quick, parmesan cheese & turkey pepparoni (no pork products allowed there ya know). Pistachios, gum, salt & pepper & all purpose seasonings...pudding, candy, Blistex, a puzzle magazine, a novel, crackers, "squeeze cheese" in a can, Lipton Green Tea packets... I know that they trade whatever they don't want. It's a barter system whenever they get a box of goodies. I got a few things left that didn't fit in this time so I have a start on the next box too. Will have to get some cookies for the next box...

Wonder how Steve's surgery is going...

Well, so it got up to about 61 or 62 today!! Not QUITE warm enough to lay out...but I DID go outside w/o a coat today to fill my birdfeeders & bust the ice up again on my pond!! Some of the kids went outside on the neighbors trampoline for awhile today in shorts (DS did not wear shorts but some did). I almost opened the back door for awhile but it was pretty breezy so although it was nice it wasn't really THAT warm. But such a treat after it being in the 20's & low 30's for a good part of the past month!!

One of the local Boy Scout troops does a spring mulch sale...got their flyer on the front door today...delivery is March 14-15. So gotta figure out how much I need & get my order in. I think it looks like it went up about 30 or 40 cents / bag. But that's OK...LOVE getting it delivered!! But the annual mulch sale is one sign that spring is coming!!

I am back...such a good time and now I am a BIG fan of Boardwalk..we walked from DHS back to hotel Saturday afternoon..walked off all the fudge!!

Nothing real new to report here. It poured last night. Clear now. More rain later so they say. Its weird but kinda nice that there are breaks between these huge deluges.

Great picture, Betsy! Looks like you had fun. I love that walk back from DHS to the BW or any of those resorts. Isn't it so relaxing? Although some days, a little shorter would be nice on the feet, LOL!
