ah, an undeniable fact of life. All the time I'm pointing out how I figure stuff out ( "if you need to add chemicals** to the pool, ya gotta know how much water is in there") Drives the kids nuts.

DH stomped up to bed as soon as that silly game was over! The Skins has won their first 2 Pre-Season games so they started out a little TOO hopeful...

Linda is doing better they put her on a steroid that is very strong and not good for the body she has been on this before, this time its what they call a quick dose, which means start with a high milligram and reduce milligrams quickly, so will see how she does after she is done the dosage.

Just discovered that DS has lost his new TI-84 $100 calculator ALREADY!!! He is unsure where he left it. OK, so our new binder is ripping already, we're down 1 coat and 1 calculator and it's only been 2 weeks. I can't stand it! And I specifically bought him a binder with a couple of nice zipper pockets inside SO THAT HE COULD KEEP TRACK OF THIS FREAKING CALCULATOR!! I am SO-O mad at him right now! I am emailing the teacher to see if by any chance the darned thing is in her classroom. Perhaps she can look around for it on Monday morning. Provided the janitors don't lift it first........GRRRRRR!!! Of course his name was all over it...but that means nothing these days. Sigh.

(Hey Phyllis - wanna trade?! I always wanted a daughter...and you could give him hand-me-downs! He doesn't eat much either! )

Annie - follow my lead! When Kate loses an expensive jacket or something, I tell her how much it cost and calculate out how much laundry and bathroom cleaning that equals.

The 6:00 news seems to think Ike will go through the Straits of Fl., hit the Keys and then head to the Gulf. Oh no, not another hit in La! I have made plans to leave my beach condo on Sun. if it looks that way because that will put us on the "dirty side" of the storm. Betsy called and wanted me to come up there but my friend, recently widowed, is alone for the first time in her condo 12 miles inland. Since she also has shutters and two floors above her apartment, she asked me to come ride it out with her. I called her tonight and told her by Sun. I would let her know if I was closing up here and heading her way. My windows have the accordian shutters that will take 2 min. to close so I can be out of here in nothing flat.

Oh I hope Ike misses ya'll....I'm glad to hear you have good shutters! How 'bout all the other FL peeps? Do you have shutters or do you have to board up?

We have started to get a few sprinkles from Hanna already. Supposed to have gusty 40 mph+ winds tomorrow and since our patio is wide open and on the south side I went out & took the top 1/2 of the umbrella down from the table and put a couple bungee cords thru the chairs, moved the flower pots to safety and turned the grill up against the side of the house. Shouldn't be too bad I don't think. Just a wet blustery stay at home kind of day.


Betsy - at this point I am so mad at DS I could stuff him into the litterbox!

Sorry...but it was bedtime...and I cannot depend on my Comcast in the rain! But I CAN sing loud & off-key for ya'll if ya want! That would be the only way I can sing! Our local news just gave us a timeline for our weather from Hanna - looks like our heaviest rain / wind will be this afternoon between 2-5:00. Until then nothing major...just icky.

So it's looking like Ike will go south of ya'll down there!
