DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

With all this rain, I am glad I am on the 3rd floor of my condo. Not much to do when you are retired and it is a messy, rainy day except watch the local news and their overkill on the storm story:surfweb: :happytv: The best part of all this is Lake Okeechobee needs all the rain it can get because it is still 3 feet below normal for this time of year.

wanna do coffee tomorrow?? I haven't decided if I am going into the office or not..School was cancelled so if I do go in later, i will have KaterKat with me

THAT will equal a fun day!

Why, yes, Bets. I would love to do coffee tomorrow. You bring KitKat and I will bring Leetle Pirate. Ry has to go to school so no coffee for her.

:upsidedow

I wish. That would be fun.

Tomorrow....hmmm...haven't gotten that far yet. Just finished soccer. Stymie bathed Leetle Pirate. I just put her to bed. Time to go clean the kitchen and get Ry to bed. Perhaps switch the laundry around and then go pass out. Maybe wine. I may need some wine while I mull over my soccer team.

Tomorrow can wait...until...tomorrow.

:flower3:

Be safe Florida peeps.

weather channel chick is our town. Stephanie Abrams from the weather channel is at Lake Worth Beach (2 mile drive from the house).

i really hate tornado warnings... :crazy2:

gee Katie..I hope this wicked storm don't bang a uey and come over hera..i would need to go back to the packie, sit in my parlor and eata puck!

:lmao: Very good,, Betsy! But whats a puck? And shouldn't it be pahlah? :rotfl:

And yes, Johnna, as a noun, pissah can be a bad thing. Describing something its good though. Good point.

Lets see what else I have for you...

The things you put on icecream are jimmies, not sprinkles.
You drink from a bubblah(aka bubbler) not a fountain.
I drink tonic not soda.
And we drive in rotaries.

So now you are all ready to come visit me. :thumbsup2

They LIVE for beeg storms don't they?! I wondered just exactly where ya'll are in all this colorful mess! I see Jim Cantore right now. I don't blame you on the tornado warnings - they freak me out! Keep an eye on that radar! I just watched the video clip of that IDIOT who was kite surfing and got picked up & slammed into the side of that building! What a goober!!!:sad2:

Gert - I am glad you & leetle pirate were able to go represent the peephood for the Creighton's. That was a good thing!:thumbsup2

Going to sign up for the Tastefully Simple gig today.... DS is reeeeaaallly whiney with the new braces...sure am glad it's only a limited amount of them and short term - teeth brushing & flossing last night took like 20 minutes!:headache: I gave him a Motrin. I am going to pick him up early today to take him to the pool just for fun for once.

Oh Anne, thats good to hear you shouldnt have to worry about flooding. I know what you mean though. When we get blizzards or N'oreasters it seems all tv programming is interrupted for news and they say the same things over and over for hours. How many ways can they say the same thing??? :headache:

/
it's only kinda the same thing...

9:05 - new doppler-indicated tornado here...
9:08 - new doppler-indicated tornado somewhere else - keep an eye on the first one too though...

blech!

Jim Cantore's in Naples... wearing goggles... yeah...

and my office wants to know if it's safe to bring the servers back up... how'm I supposed to know? I'm not a server person... or a weather person... or a server/weather person...

i went to the office but the power went out, so I left!

We have a leak somewhere on the exterior wall..when we came downstairs this morning, the sliding glass door had water coming in from the top..all the drywall mushed apart and now I can see the header beam...NICE!!!

At least your power is on at home!!! And water damage SUCKS! I'm sorry! You will have to find someone to fix that right away! We had a leak around a slider in our old townhouse. Could never figure out where it came from. It was on the northeast side of the house so it was sort of protected and didn't happen often. But sometimes we'd get a storm that blew in from that direction and we'd find the carpet was wet in front of that door. We caulked & caulked & caulked...could just never figure it out where it came from.:confused3

Oh geez!!! :scared1: Tornados are scary! Keep checking in you guys, so we know you are safe.

UGH, Betsy! Good luck with the leak. On the bright side you are home with power. :thumbsup2 I remember getting a "hurricane day" from work once when I was working. It was for Hurricane Bob in 91. It was kind of fun and exciting, but I was also 19 and didnt have my own house to worry about or anything. Life is so much easier when you are young.

we all know I am crazy..but i could SWEAR i saw a picture of me at the VR when we were looking off the back and I pretended to lift my leg to jump..i don't see it ...did someone get that?

it's in mine

How funny is this? I was just talking about Hurricane Bob to you guys today, and as it turns out, today is the anniversary. I just heard it on the news. WHOA!

sppooookkkkyyyy

Katie is one of dem dare clarie-voy-ants!!

Or maybe a weatherman. Well girl. Woman. You know what I mean!!

Hey peeps! How are ya'll holdin' up down there? Hope you still have power and that the sun will be out tomorrow!!

Well, so DS and I spent the afternoon at the pool...water was nice...might be our last 90 degree day for the season...ran into a couple of boys from his swim team and a couple of his coaches so that was a bonus. Hard to believe the pool closes in a couple of weeks. Seems like it JUST OPENED doesn't it?!

DS is MISERABLE with these new braces tho and he's making sure we are miserable with him! His cheeks are swollen. (We have re-named him Nancy BTW.):rotfl2: Actually, since his face is so swollen I'm sure he IS in pain but OMG the WHINING!:headache: I gave him a couple of Motrin's today...and I ran out to Target after dinner for some Orajel. The wax didn't seem to cut it so we thought numbing it might be best. I am calling them tomorrow to be sure that facial swelling is normal and to be expected. :confused3 They said he would be "uncomfortable" but they didn't say his face would swell up as if he'd had wisdom teeth pulled.:scared:

That surfer that got blown against a building was about a mile down the beach from me here. What a dumb thing to do when the winds are 30-45 mph.:scared1: I don't like the tornado warnings either, but I do feel safe here in my building and didn't even close my shutters. It was really windy and I could here the rain pelting my bedroom windows most of the night. I would hate to be on the Wonder this week because the Bahamas got lashed too.

Glad you are safe, Anne. I keep looking for a trip report from the Wonder but haven't seen anything yet.

Hope Bets, oph and TZM are safe as well.

Annie- Dougie was sore sore sore when he first got his braces on - maybe for 5 or 6 days. I've never heard of facial swelling though  Poor guy. Poor Mama.
