LOL...I want a new ticker so bad!! I wish those repos didn't interfere with our school schedule!! The only thing we have going on a real schedule is going to Hawaii every 5 years...so for us, 2011 should be Hawaii (just in time for the new DVC to open in 2011 on Oahu)!! We rebooked onboard fully expecting to push it WAY OUT to either 2011 or 2012 for one of the new ships...If they send one of the new ships to the Med for 2011 we might have to flop Hawaii over to 2012...unless that's a permanent route. Depends. I'd really sorta like to know the itineraries for both of the new ships before we commit to anything...but I also really want to go to the Med...I was thinking about how that 10% discount would come in handy for an expensive trip like that! I'd really like more info about the new ships!!! Hummm ...how many boxes of Tastefully Simple Beer Bread and Onion Onion Dip do I need to sell to get myself on that boat again?!

Right now we are "in negotiations" with our neighborhood group about whether or not we're doing a big ski trip up to Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland in January or not. My neighbor who usually does the planning has been a little fickle about going or not...so she didn't book the house we had last time (2 yrs ago) and now it's not available. It was a great house...so she's found another one that sleeps 28 (9 bedrooms...2 hot tubs...indoor pool) but it's about $8,300 for 4 nights!! It could hold 6 families - but we don't have 6 signed up yet... If this falls thru then we will probably try to plan a few nights in FL again. I set up fare alerts on Kayak.com....right now, spring break fares are cheaper than Pres. Day!! Of course MLK weekend is even cheaper...but we need to know if they're going to plan skiing or not. We can only plan 1 trip. I called DVC yesterday...thinking about combining cash and points....the availability is there if we book SOON....but I can't piddle around about it for long. We still have $112 credit on AirTran that I need to book before January.

I put our dry erase board from the FE on the garage door...wrote a msg. saying "I want to go to Disney" on it...just a lettle reminder to DH every time he sees it!

CamColt...I hear good things about Royal Caribbean and Celebrity! Can't u book RC thru Dreams?!

You're wicked funny, Betsy! It is funny you say that. Today I was transferring the video from the trip to a tape (yes, I live in the dark ages) and just hearing certain voices really brought back all the memories and made me feel like I was right there on the cruise with you all. I miss you guys!!!

And yes, Annie. I believe its Royal Caribbean and Celebrity we can book with Dreams(can you tell I don't routinely do that?). Who knows if this will pan out or not, but as of now thats what we are looking at. I still have to get through 2 more trips first though, so I should worry about those before thinking of next summer.

Morning ya'll....

Well, Orthodontist appt. this morning went OK...they took pics & did the impressions etc. today. We go back next Mon. morning to get the braces on (gives him 1 week to gorge on all the bagels, corn on the cobb, chips, gum, candy, gummies etc. that he can...) It's really a limited brace thing at this point - they just need to straighten his 4 front top teeth and correct his cross bite. They said it should only take about 6 months of wearing the braces and then he'll have to wear a night guard thingy later. He may or may not need to go back in a couple of years. His teeth are so slow coming in...hard to say at this point. So it won't be too bad for this go round.

I am picking him up by about 2:30 today to go to the fair....WhooHoo! LOL!

i know this will make me the target of someone who thinks I need to put the photo crackpipe down..but I want to see more VR pics!!

We got a new camera this weekend..a Sony SLR A200 that was an "open box" so we got 30% off plus they threw in some free stuff like a card reader and "SLR for Dummies" book and a 4g Compact Flash card..We took it to the pool yesterday for some shots with Kate..very cool!! Wish I had it for the cruise..but I can't wait to take it to the Japanese gardens in Delray and shoot some photo's. Reminds me of my old Canon AE1 that I used in photography classes

like I said school starts for Babs on Monday. no No NO I say!!! Well, starting Monday, it will only be 180 days until summer.

I need to finish my pics...need to re-do the ones I screwed up & put on Shutterfly already. Ummmm, Cheri? Where are YOUR pics?!

Betsy - "photo crackpipe" - THAT's funny! I also had a Canon AE1 in photography class...think I STILL have it somewhere...but the digital thing is really cool...I have the Canon Rebel XT and I like it but it's just too darn big to take everywhere sometimes. I am spoiled by the little pocket size numbers...the worst thing about them is the time delay. LOVE that the SLR's don't have any delay! Post some pics!!

OK, so I was on my way out to the grocery store this morning and I got a call from a resume I sent out on June 27!! 6 full weeks later! She was calling to schedule a phone interview. So I am doing that tomorrow morning at 9:00. As much as I dislike REGULAR interviews I really don't like the phone interviews...but it's probably a good opportunity...only 4 miles away...a Bio Tech firm...the job description in the ad was a little vague...so I don't know... We'll have to see if I can get past the phone part 'eh?!

OK, off soon to pick up DS for the fair! Hope I gots some ribbons!

Cheri - Will attempt to get pictures off moms camera again tonight. After soccer practice. Team is OK so far but only one practice. Gots me one player who thinks she is the coach. Or at least should be. So I made her attempt to dribble past me in one skill drill. Needless to say I think I put her down a peg or two. I gots mad crazy soccer skills dontcha know.

LOL, Johnna! I didn't know wicked needed defining. You really know you are from Boston when you start saying "Wicked Pissah:" as in, Cruising with the peeps was wicked pissah. Has anyone seen the SNL skit where the HS couple from Boston go on the field trip to Plymouth Plantation(Brittany spears was in it). It is so hysterical, because the people, as eccentric as they seem, seem real to us.

And that is awesome. Glad you aren't hurt. Peter is heading out now to go to the draft for his new team. He usually has the worst luck in picking a team so this should be interesting.

Hi all...

I'm sorry for my strange absence on the thread recently, as well as the cryptic messages about my 'troubles'. I don't like to burden others with my personal struggles, however it was suggested to me that my DIS friends would want to know what has happened.

Last Sunday, my brother suffered a major head injury in a freak, tragic accident. He had a large skull fracture and a brain bleed with massive swelling. Sadly, he laid unconscious in his driveway for nearly 9 hours before he was found. He was barely breathing but the EMT's managed to stabilize him and get him to the trauma center. He was put into a medically induced coma. We have prayed with him and hoped for his recovery at his bedside every day for the last week, but that wasn't God's plan. He never regained consciousness. Early this afternoon, he succumbed to his injuries and was taken from us. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to go through, so all I ask is that my friends please keep us in their thoughts. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me, but please pray for me!

Here are the pictures from our camera that turned out ok. The camera was new and evidently thinks it can decide what to delete by itself. Well, it does since I can see a pic one time and when I go back to look at it it's gone.
