Here's a brief video clip of our surprise for C's 10th birthday at Disneyland this past weekend.

I actually made this clip on Sunday (as soon as we got home from D-Land), but uploading high-def video is maddeningly difficult and time consuming. I've also been incredibly busy at work... so, here's a painfully low-def version of us surprising the Cassmeister at the House of the Mouse!

(The high-def version would have taken 22.5 hours to upload. This one took 46 minutes. You've been warned...)

YEAH!! what she said! amazing thing is that we don't even KNOW ya'll live and in person yet and we feel all warm & fuzzy inside!


ok, so i go up to bed last nite & DH was already snoring... so i was like "are you asleep"? "yeah" (he was face down but i think he was drooling!) anyway, so i say "SE has powers and and get the AP rate for us no question asked..." he mumbled something thru the drool about leaving it alone...thought we had it settled already...drop it...i'm asleep...go to bed. so i think we'll just leave it be. i mean, we went on the AKV tour last summer and LOVED the DVC units so i really want to stay in one of the villas....i was just trying to be frugal with the AP thing and wanted to get a deal out of that purchase too but i drive everybody crazy in the process. but so OH WELL! but you are right, May...$146 would pay for a car rental or the car service to the port. don't let me think about it any more! (anybody want some beer bread?! )

thanks, TZM, we like Cassaro and most of the time we think we'll keep her. Seeing her run to Uncle Beano like that was priceless. I can't even tell people the story without getting teary. It was truly the best gift she could have gotten. THANK YOU UNCLE BEANO AND AUNTIE RJ!


SE, yup, for $12 a pair of light 'em up Mickey ears can be yours on Main Street USA, Disneyland (or DIDNEE LAN according to the t-shirt ). I'm not a big ear wearer, or hat person, but I LIKED those darn ears. Probably look cuter on a 10 year old though

Just confirmed that we will be at the AKL villas the two nights before the cruise YAY. We will be driving over to the port the morning of the cruise instead of staying over there Saturday night.

Just over two months and we will all be on OUR SHIP!!!

oh, forgot to mention about the Disneyland trip: there were two different groups of people wearing lime green t-shirts walking around. We are taking FL Tours to the port the morning of the cruise.

Yay! It's a pa-a-r-r-ty at AKL / AKV!!! There shall be much to drink (I mean to celebrate)!! Have you stayed there before? We stayed there our first trip on site with Jared - the first year it was opened I think. He still talks about the doughnuts at Mara! We LOVED it! The DVC models are gorgeous...I can't wait to go back! Do you guys drive down & back so you have your own car to get to the port?! I really need to think some more about how we're going to get around!

OK, so I just found an ad in this little local Gazette paper that shows up in the driveway every week - our county schools are advertising for bus drivers! $15.58 / hour to start! Paid training...2 raises per year! Apply in person! What do you think?! What should I wear? This would give me the experience I need when we retire to FL and I apply at Disney to drive a bus!

Then again, some people on Disney buses aren't the nicest..so maybe it would be good training!

My next door neighbor said I'm too skinny! That appears to be a requirement from what we've seen driving them around here!

I asked DS if he thought I could drive a school bus. He said "I think you can DRIVE it but I don't think you know how to pick people up!"
