DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

Honeys, I'm home! LOL OMG. the weather last week out at the coast was FAB. U. LOUS. I wanna go back. Unfortunately, because the weather was so nice, I spent a lot of time outdoors and not working on my stamping stuff for Convention, so I'm behind on that (I leave a month from today - EEK!). And I am tired. The drive home yesterday was nasty and it was SO nice to sleep in my own bed again! LOL

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I've been on here. Wasn't sure for a while if I was going to be able to make it for the trip as I have not been working. But, I am still working on saving, and I've been saving up RBC Rewards which should cover most of my flight by the time I'm ready to book. The trip also overlaps at least a couple days of my AP, so that should help as well.

But best of all my best friend has decided that she wants to come with me this time! And I didn't even have to coax her, she actually brought it up! And she is 99% sure she's coming, as long as her husbands work schedule doesn't change. I am so excited for this! I have had her added to the FB page, and her name is Chrissy. Hopefully she can get to know some of you. :) She will be rooming with Paula, Kerri and I.

Hi!

Not much going on...just staying busy with work.

DBF and I got to see a special (free) screening of The Heat last night. OMG! It was so funny! I was LOLing the whole time!

We have seen Fast 6 and the Hangover 3 in the past few weeks and The Heat was the best of the three.

We are going to see Monsters University on Saturday. Hopefully that one is good.

Haven't been able to see any of those movies yet. Will make note of the Heat. Really been wanting to see Fast 6. We did get to see Man of Steel on opening night. Despite the 3D, we really enjoyed it. Been big Superman fans for a long time though.

We are hoping to see MU this weekend. I hope! Wish we could take Seth, but he's still quite not old enough. When he can sit through a full movie at home, we will take him to the theater. :)

:wave2:Hello. Not much going on in my neck of the woods. Just work work work. My sister is out from IL. and we're going to the Grammy Museum in LA on Sat. Looking forward to that.
Next trip to the parks is a week from Sunday.
That's about it.

Hi all..life has been hectiic..Fathers days..baseball games..work..it never ends..:faint:

Just started back at the gym yesterday..now am kicking myself for ever stopping going but thats okay ! Time to get real !

I feel bad I am having to opt out of the NorCal Disney Museum get together..was really looking forward to that however working as much lately it's just too tiring :(

My DH proposed an interetsing scenario. We are both trying to get healthy..again..lol..and I have been bugging him to go to Napa Rose so he said that if I meet a goal - that he won't tell me so I don't get too stressed/obessive about - we will do Chefs counter. It's good motivatioN :thumbsup2

So Beth is up in my neck of the woods and the mini meet is tomorrow! So excited to see all the lovely ladies who will be attending! I will try to post pics!

I am busy as usual. Got back a week ago and it has been non-stop since. I am back to working out but not having a lot of luck. I did the 5K last sunday and then I was so sore that I haven't been able to do a whole lot this week. Not giving up though. Taking the kids to the community pool tonight, swim meet tomorrow and hoping to go see Monster's Univ on Sunday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Laters,

Looking forward to photos!

I'm unsure on the mini meet in SF next weekend. We shall see.

The spouse is gone for the weekend, so my house is QUIET. I did not get NEARLY enough done up at the cabin last week as the weather was WAY too gorgeous and the spouse invaded for 3 days instead of two. SIGH. So, between my little early birthday trip to DL next week and not getting enough done on my convention stuff, I will have a whole lotta fun coming up. Not. LOL

I'm sporting some coral nail polish on a few of my nails right now in anticipation of pub crawl outfit coordination. It's not as heinous as I imagined it would be. LOL And it matched the shirt I bought almost EXACTLY. So it's a keeper. I've survived my dad's 10th birthday after his passing this week, so it can only get better, even if my mom is being a pain in my butt. Luckily, the spouse gets to spend time with her this weekend at their church thingy and with him out of work, she isn't bugging me about when we are coming to visit. Although she did get snarky about me taking a trip to DL, even if it IS to celebrate my big 5-0. Bite me, mother. LOL Yeah, I was daddy's girl.

The interview we thought hubby had down outside San Diego has been cancelled, but they are now looking at interviewing him for a job about 4 hours from here, which would be a lot better. Still no word on the Folsom Dam project. He did work 7 hours this week doing some consulting work for a firm down in Martinez, so that is nice.

Nothing else going on here. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Can't wait to see and hear all about the WA mini-meet. ;)

Lisa, I'm a daddy's girl too. So is Breezy.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.

Hi everyone!
It's been awhile since I've checked in on the thread.
Hope your summer is going well. I'm busy with work, exercise and now getting ready for VBS next week at our church.

I'm in charge of the crafts so tomorrow I have to buy the supplies and prep a much as possible because on Sunday we are decorating our room and Monday we're off!

My cousin-in-law is due to have her baby any day now. This little boy will be SO spoiled. I can't wait to meet little Calvin Peter, he is going to be my new favorite :wizard: I am going to spoil him with Disney stuff any chance I get. :lovestruc

No 4th of July plans here, I'll most likely pick up hours if they're offered so my check won't be short the following week.
Work has been going through many changes and I don't like most of them but eh, what can you do? I'm still looking for a permanent full-time but when I start searching it is just depressing.

Hi all! It's been crazy here. Work is hectic and helped my daughter (Diva Jennifer Hall- lckykittie) move as much as I could this last week. Today I helped them with a yard sale and now the next week will be preparing for my granddaughter's National American Miss Arizona pageant! Good luck Keira! She needs to make the princess thing official!;) If she wins any of the optionals of the pageant, she gets to go to the Nationals in Anahiem & they spend a day at Disney too. She is excited!
I am looking forward to all the planning ahead for our Diva's trip and I hope this will be a yearly thing for me.:goodvibes

What a whirlwind Saturday..work was hectic from the get-go and a co worker had to go to the hospital for a severe asthma attack :(

People were pretty demanding today..and both DH and I have had very long weeks. When work slowed down I made the mistake of browsing stuff on best Buy..and jokingly message DH about how I was briefly looking at tv's. Then he asked if I found any I liked..which was odd I found but just shrugged it off. Then he asked if I wanted to check it out after work..um..sure..

And now we have this :

It turned out to be a good start to the weekend :)

DON'T CALL THE POLICE-- I GOT AWAY-- Well that works when I got shopping and I get home later then I told husband I would be gone.

Still working in getting my diabetes under control. High enough to cause a stroke or coma when I went via the big Red and White van with the lights that flash to the hospital. Now it gets to low-- sigh-- I really get the shakes and actually walk around like I am on a cheap drunk when it gets under 50 :(. Calgon take me away--- Funny how I remember that commercial, age is playing tricks with me.

Husband is having a fit about me doing the Diva trip........I let him know I have 8+ months to get this diabetes thing figured out. He even has me wearing one of those " help I fell and I can't get up" push button things. ***rolls eyes*****.

I have been thinking of my Meet and Greet -- get-up-- I have yet to figure out any funny gear. If I had been able to attend last year I was so going to wear pantyhose with my skirt tucked into the pantyhose. Yes, I would have set that work outfit off with several red Dixie cups circling my neck via some clothes line cord. I so want my BBF to come -- Joan has some of the best ideas for stuff like Halloween so I know she could come up with a funny outfit.

I sure hope everyone in Canada is safe. What a storm. To all the Diva's and families on summer trips -- be safe.

I look forward to "playing" with you all at the meet.

Patty

Looking forward to photos!

I'm in charge of the crafts

I love crafts. I miss doing them with my DD's grade school. Ran an after school craft program using recycled materials. It was fun.

And now we have this :

It turned out to be a good start to the weekend :)

pixiedust:

That is a serious TV.

Dropped my DD13 at SDSU's campus today for her Tech Trek nerd math and science camp. She will have such fun, and I will SO miss her.

I am going to drown my sorrows literally and figuratively by going to DL on Tuesday. Splitting a room with a couple DIVAS.:rolleyes1

Will be roughing out the "course" for the Pub Crawl and formulating rules and guidelines.

Since, I am likely to be ultra loosey goosey with the rules, thinking might call them "Nuances" or " indications".;)

So, soon will have a plan more cohesive than 1). Wear orange 2). Drink and 3). Woo hoo!!!!

So, will likely have some information for our fearless leader to post when she returns from her jaunt with her family.

:cool1:

Glad I saw this - I thought of something else today regarding pub crawl, but I was in a hurry and forgot to jot it down! Just the reminder I needed!

We have LOVELY weather today! Breezy, overcast, 77 degrees, a few sprinkles here and there. Tomorrow we are supposed to get RAIN which will last on and off until Wednesday and then back up to near triple digits by the weekend. YUCK on that! LOL

DOUBLE YUCK on the triple digits!!! :scared1:

Hi ladies! I've been at Annual Training for the Guard since the 14th, seems like longer. Today they called "ENDEX" (end of exercise), so our wargames are over, but we still have a few days left of training. No wifi at the barracks so I've been coming down here to the "Warrior Zone" on Ft. Lewis to use the internet for schoolwork and facebook. Still sad that I missed Beth, hope to hear all about the mini-meet soon. The only really good thing about this two weeks is that I'm double-dipping, I get paid military leave from work along with my military pay for the training, so I'll be putting some away for the trip. I cannot wait.

Hey everyone! I've had a boring evening, so I decided to start working on my tattoo that I want to get done sometime in the next couple months. And this is what I have:

Yes! Of course, it's Stitch! I've been wanting to get Stitch inked on me for many many years, and I've finally found the image I want to do. BUt obviously I am going to get the artist to do cleaner lines, and a more realistic job of the claw marks. Make it look like he's clawing me a little. And I think I am going to also try and get a hidden mickey somewhere in the flowers or something. In spirit of Disneyland of course. :goodvibes Let me know what you think! :)

Also since I am in another Photoshop mood, if anyone is wanting new siggies, or any newbies wanting one added to your signature, please send me a PM with your name and a preferred character (or 2!). :)

Hello ladies!

I'm baaaaack! :scared1: :hyper:

So. Tired. A 13 day, four state, road trip with 6 people is tiring. But, so fun. We made memories that I know the kids will cherish for a long time to come. And, bonus, I got to meet up with some of the Divas! Fun times.

I've only skimmed back and am sure I missed things so if there was anything important or anything that needs updating can you please re-post it, or PM me? Thanks. :)

The kitchen gadget/foodie exchange sign-ups will be starting today! So keep an eye out for those.

I came home to temps that, over the next five days, will range from 114 to 117. Makes me want to cry. :scared: It's just so wrong. I hate the heat. Guess we'll be hitting Redbox and hunkering down for the weekend with some movies. :rolleyes2

Hope everyone else is doing well, staying cool, and has a great weekend! :goodvibes
