DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

Morning Ladies!

Well the remodel is basically done, and reunions were this past weekend. Whew! I don't think I have ever been this tired in my life. Working all day, and late at night, just trying to get things done. We were grouting the back splash last Wednesday, and people were beginning to show up on Friday. I still had to finish painting the window sills, and put stuff away. My girls came on Thursday to help me as much as possible. Thank goodness for them! We still don't have a floor, and I still need to finish painting the front entryway, doors and shutters on the outside. My house went from sage green to white. It looks so different now. But I'm loving it so far. I'm going to try and see if I can get pictures of my new kitchen up here. LOL..... everytime I do this, I have to remember what the world do I do?

Hello ladies!

I'm baaaaack!

So. Tired. A 13 day, four state, road trip with 6 people is tiring. But, so fun. We made memories that I know the kids will cherish for a long time to come. And, bonus, I got to meet up with some of the Divas! Fun times.

I've only skimmed back and am sure I missed things so if there was anything important or anything that needs updating can you please re-post it, or PM me? Thanks.

The kitchen gadget/foodie exchange sign-ups will be starting today! So keep an eye out for those.

I came home to temps that, over the next five days, will range from 114 to 117. Makes me want to cry. It's just so wrong. I hate the heat. Guess we'll be hitting Redbox and hunkering down for the weekend with some movies.

Glad that you had a wonderful time. I love road trips. Wish I had one planned for this summer, but no go. So I love to hear about others.
How fun you got to meet up with the Divas up north. I am so far behind, that I don't even know where you guys met.
Our temps are getting up there too. I believe tomorrow is supposed to be around 105 or higher. Miserable!

So maybe I need to check out the kitchen gadget goodies exchange? LOL... didn't know anything about that either.

Boy...... I have a bunch to catch up on.

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Saturday.

It's going to be a scorcher here today. A high of 117 with a real feel of 119. Fun times. NOT! I hope everyone had a great weekend and if you are having a heat wave, stay safe and cool, drink lots of water.

I'll be on the road to the parks tomorrow at 6:00 am. It's supposed to only be 93. I can handle that just fine after todays high of 110.
A Dole Whip and a couple rides on Splash will be in order!

Braving the triple didgits here too. Spent the last 3 days in Scottsdale at the DoubleTree but never found time for the pool.
Was with my DD (Diva Jennifer- lckykittie) and DGD who was a state finalist in the National American Miss pageant there at the resort. She had a busy but fun time- didn't make it to Nationals this time. It was her first pageant and she was sad that they didn't call her name for the final line-up. (Of course she was the best! ) At 6 years old, it was tough for her to understand that she wasn't #1! It was a great experience for her.
Came home and sat at the computer and have done survey's for hours- saving up that trip money! Cashed another $50 Walgreens card for a Disney card tonite too!

We'll be moving at the beginning of October. As of right now I'm still in for the trip, once I get a feel for my work environment, training, etc I'll know for sure.

Which surveys do you do?

Hi! I do the My Points surveys and watch them if I need something online (EBay , Walmart) they often give points for EBay but not always, and sometimes have double points etc on others. I use their points for Walgreens GCs that I use to buy Disney GCs. (Don't ask just get all your purchases, and I say Let me see what I have on this card, and run the GC, then run a CC for any balance.
I do Quick rewards, and they did have Disney GC to buy with your reward money but not sure if they always do. (These 2 are the best for me for surveys)
I also do My Surveys-a little slower earning but sometimes get free items to review. (I've gotten hair color, cat litter, granola bars, laundry soap and much more!)
I have another one that I do just the click throughs-forget the name-
Some days I may not qualify for more than $1 in surveys a day but I don't try everyone that they send.
Last year we paid for all our WDW food with our GCs and the Disney Visa rewards. (Saved for more than 2 years)

Happy Monday, ladies!

Well.... it's a Monday in any case. Not sure if it's happy. Going to be another scorcher here today. Surprise, surprise. A predicted high of 116.

I am definitely suffering from post vacation blues. I'd been planning that road trip since last January and now it's over. It was great, but....now what? I need to win the lotto so I can plan more trips! lol We are pretty much tapped out now. No more big vacations until next summer.

Oh, well. I don't mean to complain. It's just hard to get back to reality (and this heat) sometimes. I am grateful we were able to take our vacation and that my kids, even my grumpy 18 year old son, had a good time. Lots of nice memories were made.

Today I'm taking Noelle to her orthodontist appt. to see how much longer she needs to have her braces on. She'll get them off either this month or the next. But, definitely before she starts her senior year in the Fall. She's very excited about that!

Oh Beth I feel your pain. It is not quite as hot here but almost and once you get past 100 it's just damn hot no matter what LOL. Our temp here today is supposed to be around 110 or 112 I think and the same through the week. BLEH. Going to make for an ugly 4th but luckily we hope to be in my parent's pool the whole time. No parades or fireworks for us.

I know what you mean about the vacay blues too. We had a blast on our trip but as usual it is always over WAY too quick. We have nothing else planned until Oct when were are taking a long weekend to take the girls to Disneyland for the halloween stuff. Haven't done that since 09 and mom has never been to DL for a halloween party only once at DW. So we are looking forward to that although right now it seems like forever away.

After that it is just the diva trip until next summer. So I'm right there with ya. LONG spells in between and at this point we don't even know what or if we are even doing anything next summer. We are really hoping to go back to DW in Nov of 14 if my mom can get her time share lined up. If not prob won't be able to go and I am really hoping it works out as it will have been 4 years since have been and so anxious to get back and see all the new stuff.

Our AC died yesterday which it does EVERY year when it gets over 100. Luckily the guy is always able to put a band aid on it and get us by but if we have too many more 100 degree days it might crap out all together. Praying it doesn't.

Missed mousemeet...beyond disappointed! Starting to feelbetter. Will start physical therapy soon. Our temps are 70s to 80s. Happy 4th!

I thought you were doing the Tink marathon in Jan. Sign ups are in a few days. The 9th I think. Passholders get early sign up on Friday. They added a 10k on Sat. with the half on Sun. Sarah is not sure yet if she'll run both.

I totally get that Sarah! I yawned super hard the other day and then my neck went snappy and after ice and ibuprofren I recovered from that but it has moved to my shoulder blade and I am in misery and can't sleep. Grrr... I mean really??? It all started with a yawn...

Despite that, life goes on....

I have been secretly planning a July trip but really wasn't sure that we would go until now. So I have decided we definitely will go. Just Nate and I July 15th to 18th, and no big plan but it will be fun to be back with the best Disney buddy ever. And my back will be better by then by gosh!

I totally know what you mean! I have an AP but have been either working or blocked out so I can't go to DLR. I'm actually planning a WDW trip for next September (SO. Far. Away) so I'm letting my pass expire in August.
