DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

Laurie, I am loving your reports! I have read 3 of them this morning! It's kind of funny because every time I see a pic of Mike, I think to myself..."there's my Safeway guy!" We will have to meet up one of these days after things settle down for you a bit and have coffee and some Disney talk:) The Jolly Holiday looks like a fun place with great food- those strawberry lemon cupcakes look yummy! So glad that you got to chat with Oscar too- I hope we see him when we are there in a few weeks! Really enjoying your photos and can't wait to read more:)

We do need to get together once life gets back to "normal"....whatever that is.....lol :rotfl: I'm so glad you're getting to go for a trip in a few weeks....YAY!!!!! :woohoo: Spring break is not my favorite time to go, due to crowds....but hopefully you'll be there during a slower of the spring break times. Take advantage of weekdays if you can.....mid-week, even during the hectic times can prove to be very manageable days. Also wake up early & get to the parks to do some rides & gathering some FP's!!

The Jolly Holiday was very good......Oscar is a nice touch to promote this new restaurant......he's definitely Disneyland celebrity!!

We have Quizno's cater our party....or at least the sandwiches. I think the salads were done by Wendy &/or Tammy. We also bring chips & cookies.....as well as drinks (lots of drinks!!). I'm super disappointed because I didn't get a close up pic of the alcohol bottles & mixers.....one of the ladies had made up labels to fit our Party of Peril theme. They were awesome!!

The group secretly had collected gift cards for Melody to surprise her at the party. This was our way of thanking her for all her hard work & dedication to the group & taking on making all these shirts. (we had 51 ladies for this trip....I think that was final tally)

She's such a sweet lady!!! Love Ya Mel!!

I am so hungry looking at all those snacks! Yummy!

I need to think of some Canadian goodies (besides Smarties) that I can bring down for next trip.

Those shirts are amazing! I totally love them. I want one! Haha. She does a great job.

I'm here to read along and relive the memories!

There was a ton!!! The Canadian Smarties are always a big hit....so if you have another hidden secret up there......feel free to share it with us!!

This year, the gals that wanted a purple shirt from last year was able to order one from Melody......It's possible you'll be able to order a pink one next year!! They really are fabulous....especially in the sunlight!! :goodvibes

Really? That would be awesome. When it comes time to order shirts, if we do that this year, I would love one.

They seem to wear the prior years shirt on one of the days.....but we may want to use the purple castle shirt again...so who knows!! Hopefully, we will & she'll make the offer to make some for our newbies!!

The decorations for the M&G were fabulous. I am looking forward to seeing what the committee comes up for next year's theme. Melody's shirt design looks like that of a professional. She's one talented Diva.

Did you get a picture of the name tags? What all did they say? :confused3

The tags from the party? I took a pic of mine. They were "toe tags" to go with the theme. It had the person's name, cause of death (if the villian had won), place of death (Party of Peril), date of death (Feb 23, 2012) & from the Office of:.......... (the name of the movie it came from). I actually based these tags off a picture of a real one. So everyone's was different.

Last year's theme was a luau & that was fun too!! I'll be excited to see what we decide on for this year too!!

Melody is very talented & creative. The shirts from the last 2 years are beautiful!! I can't wear mine without getting lots of compliments & questions on where they can buy one. That's really a compliment for all of Mel's hard work!!

I love Tyler's shirt!! Great update.

There was a blog or something he was following that came up with a different shirt design daily.....you could order the shirt on that ONE day only.....he got quite a few shirts that are all really different from the norm.

I know. Disney Co. could learn a thing or two from her about how to design a shirt...Okay, Disney, take note. Amp it up. Seeing Melodie's shirt designs made me remember "back in the day" at Disney they used to carry some really cute villain shirts in a shop in the NOS area. I used to find the cutest nightshirts and such there. Well, I can't find those anymore. I think when Melody's not doing her day job she needs to moonlight in Disney's design shop ;)

I think he still follows this site....but since he's not working & he probably has close to 100 tees......he hasn't gotten any lately....... :rotfl:

I agree with you......the shirts from the last 2 trips are special!! I always buy tons of shirts while at DL, but this trip I only bought 2. Very weird for me......just wasn't moved by the 2012 designs.

Great start Laurie!! You do THE best reports because you put so much detail. I LOVE It! The M&G looked like a lot of fun. I am sorry we missed it! I am SO glad we were still able to get the shirts though and your are right Mel did a fab job!!

I love that there were some extra things like hand sanitizers and such not just food. My girls have always LOVED the stuff I brought home from the party!

I am so excited that they already have dates for next year and now mom is thinking we may try and make it. So I hope it works out because I hate to miss another year. I was glad to see you and some of the others while we were there but it is not the same as actually BEING part of the group so I look forward to doing it again if not next year hopefully DEF in 14!

Can't wait for the next installment as always!! :)

Thanx Kelly!! I was glad we were able to meet up.....even if only for a few minutes!! How was the dinner at Catal? That place looked fancy from the outside!!

The Meet-n-Greet is always a highlight of the trip.....we had 47 in attendance this year!!

I hope you & your mom are able to make it next year......I'm hoping I get to go next year....it will be on the heels of our big WDW trip....so hard to say.

Once everyone had eaten, we did a "raffle" of sorts. You could buy tickets for $1.00 a piece for a chance to win all the money collected. You would have to complete a task first. So once all the tickets were sold.....we started calling numbers. The task was to locate the one red checker in the bucket of GOO. The trick was there were 12 black ones in the bucket as well. You would get to pull only one out to see if you won......then it would be put back into the bucket. Capri had a story about it being blood cells & such....very creative, but lack of sleep was setting in & I don't recall what she was saying. I do know that gals that put their hands in the bucket were grossed out by the feeling of the stuff.

First number called was Rochelle.....she found a black one.

173.jpg

The next one to try was Wendy......she found a black one.

174.jpg

Stephanie was next......she found a black one.

175.jpg

Then Bridget......she found a black one.

176.jpg

The Bridget again......still she found a black one.

177.jpg

Followed by Carol......who found a black one.

178.jpg

Then came Stacie......who found........the RED ONE!!!!!

179.jpg

She won $147......not too shabby!!

Great update! That looks like a lot of fun. And how nice would that extra $147 be to spend at CoD! Haha.
