Hello ladies!!

As some of you know from Facebook, I just booked a trip from here to Washington! Ruben and I have our 20th anniversary coming up next June. My mom said she'd come out from Michigan to watch the kids so we could take off alone for a week. But, she wouldn't come in June, too hot for her. She said she'd come over Spring Break in March.

After doing some online research of hotels over Spring Break everything was coming up kind of pricey. Long story short, we somehow ended up finding good hotel and car deals for the month of December. Guess that's kind of a slow season in WA! Probably due to the cold weather and rain. But, I'm okay with that! LOL ;)

So, we are booked for one week, Dec. 6-13! Nothing like celebrating your anniversary 6 months early. :lmao: Oh, well. I'm excited and sick to my stomach at the same time. I've wanted to go to WA for so long!! We've got plans to stay on Orcas Island, Whidbey Island and in Seattle. I can't wait.
But, I haven't flown in 6 years and the last time I did fly it was one of those white knuckle rides where it's so bumpy the flight attendants had to stay seated and belted the whole time and I was just praying I made it home safe. :( It really scared me. I vowed then and there I wouldn't fly again. And, now 6 years later, I am considering flying! I don't know how I am going to do this.... :rolleyes2

But, for now, I am not going to think about it, and instead, I am focusing my thoughts on all the pretty scenery we are going to encounter! :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

I don't know. Disney seems to keep raising prices and making less than popular changes, and yet it doesn't slow down the masses from going.

!

This sounds like a fun trip! Are you going to see Callie? Marty and I are spending our 20th anniversary with her and Dan, and I'm thinking you should, too!

Beth - I'll bring you a Valium for your flight. LOL You'll be fine. I used to be a HORRIBLE airline passenger. You can do it!

And can I just say WOO HOO for the current weather forecast for DL this weekend: Friday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
Friday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 61.
Saturday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

I like the sound of these temps.

You were 6 months old in 1981? I'm feeling a little old here.

Welp, the Southwest 40% off sale mixed with WDW Stay, Play and Dine special has led me to a trip to WDW in January. I'm super excited!
But before that, I have a Mickey Quickie this weekend, and a holiday time trip next month. I'm really feeling like a Disney hoarder these days!

By the way, I booked the holiday tour for mom and I for Saturday, November 17 this morning. We are doing the afternoon tour. If anybody will be around that weekend and interested in joining us, please do!

and you did just fine. The lady sitting next to us held you almost the whole time. She was enjoying you so much.

How do you go anywhere without flying? Some places, you just gotta fly.

:lmao:

That's just it. I never go anywhere.:rotfl:

I'd like to see Callie since I haven't seen her in forever! How funny that it would be for our 20th anniversary trip as well. LOL!
I'm so glad to hear that she and Dan booked the trip after all. And, even better that you'll all be there together.
When in January will you be there? Will the holiday decorations still be up?

That's just it. I never go anywhere.:rotfl:
Awww, Trudi, you are overdue! Take a train. They are very nice. I would have taken the train up to WA but it's a hassle from Vegas. No station here. But you can take a train from Palmdale to Union Station and then go just about anywhere from there. :thumbsup2

We're not going until the 23rd, so no holiday decorations for us. But the trade off is that it looks to be one of the lowest weeks of the year crowd-wise.

You will be fine on the plane. Bring a good book, an iPod and a comfy blankie, and you'll be all set.

Beth congrats on the upcoming trip. I used to live up that way and I loved it there. My ex and I took several trips to the San Juans and they are beautiful. You will have a blast. If you go to Seattle you have to see the Space Needle and the underground tour is lots of fun. It's a great city with lots to do.

Tina I know what you mean about Sarah LOL. I think I was a freshman in HS in 81 LOL.

Tina have a blast on your trip as well. I want to go back so bad. We are hoping for maybe a thanksgiving trip in 14.

I have had a crazy stressful week. First with Katy and her hand and then Shelby got sick on Tues and had to go to urgent care and now Katy has a wicked cold and wanted to stay home from school but she ALREADY missed monday getting her cast on so I had to tell her to tough it out.

We have our last regular season game this saturday and hopefully going to run up to apple hill on Sunday. We always go in October to get some fun harvest/halloween pics and our apples. And luckily we get a weekend off right before halloween as I don't think our team is going to make playoffs. I wish the cheer would take a break but they adapted their routine so Katy could still do the competition they have on Nov 3rd and she has another 5k on the 4th so no rest till we get through that stuff but then hopefully a break till at least sometime in Dec or maybe if we are lucky January!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning! Well, we are almost to the weekend! :yay: My DS, Nate is running his x -country conference race today do I took the day off to go cheer him on. My DD, Kim, is out of class by later this morning so she will go with. We are supposed to get another weather system in and I am hoping it holds off until the race is over.

Beth, I did hear Sean is the next Bachelor. I might have to watch it - just because it is him and he's such a cutie!

Tina, I agree, I-Pod, blanket, etc help to make the trip more enjoyable. I put spa music on my I-Pod which helps when the turbulence hits!

Kelly - I agree with you - Space Needle and Under Ground Tour are two Seattle musts. Washington State history was such a blast hearing about the Seattle fire, "the fill" and the rebuild. Beth, I won't spoil it for ya' but Seattle has a somewhat comical past...

Good morning, ladies! Happy Thursday! :)

I was supposed to be catching the bus later today and heading off to Disneyland! :( But, sadly, no bus catching will be happening anytime in my future. And, to add insult to injury, my AP expires on Saturday. (sigh)

Oh well. I'm actually okay with not going to Disney. Like I said before, other than our family trip in May, which was lovely, it's been so crowded. Plus with all the unfavorable changes they are making... I don't know. I think I am getting Disneyed-out!! :scared1:
Maybe I should take a Disney break for 2 years, then plan a trip to WDW to see all the new things there. ;) I could go to Universal and Islands of Adventure while I'm there.
Hmmm, anyone up for WDW in January 2015 (in just two years, two months)? :rotfl:

Actually, I cannot even think that far ahead. I am so focused on this WA trip in December and planning for that now. Then the ladies trip in February. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Well, it's too bad you'll miss the decorations, but, great news on the low crowds! No matter how nice the park looks decorated, it would still suck if you're shoulder to shoulder with everyone.
The last time we went to WDW as a family, we drove down from MI the day after Thanksgiving. It was perfect weather in FL, and the parks were not busy at all. I think we got lucky and caught that lull in between the two holidays. That was back in 2005. I went again in 2006 on a DIS ladies trip, which is where I met Shirley, SarahMay and January. Haven't been back since then.

Thanks. We heard about that tour from a coworker of Ruben's but I'm not sure about taking it. Ruben is a bit claustrophobic and he wasn't sure how long he could tolerate being underground or in any sort of dark, enclosed area. :confused3
We will see the Space Needle and Pike Place market for sure.

Hope the girls feel better and you all enjoy your time at Apple Hill. That sounds like something I'd love to do!

Sean was cute, but not my type. Too much of a pretty boy. lol But, he was also really religious, wasn't he? I wonder how that will come into play dating all these women.

I don't have an Ipod, but I can bring my MP3 player. (I'm a bit behind when it comes to technology! I don't even have a cell phone. lol) Not sure how much music will help me though!
I also have high blood pressure. I take medication for it, but now I'm wondering if I should have checked with my doctor before booking this flight...

Good luck to your son on his run! :cheer2:

You were 6 months old in 1981? I'm feeling a little old here.

No kidding. LOL

And the weather forecast just keeps getting better and better. I may need a windbreaker and long pants yet! LOL

Friday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: A chance of drizzle after 11pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 61. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: A chance of drizzle before 11am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Good Morning! I can't wait for Tuesday. DBF and I will be at Disneyland for the Trick or Treat Party. It feels like forever since I've been to Disneyland! I was there Labor day weekend for the 1/2 Marathon but didn't actually go in the parks. Ok, I guess I did "run" through them both but I didn't get to ride any attractions. :rotfl:

We are staying at Hotel Menage (love that hotel and it's 24 hour hot tub!) and hopefully we will be in the parks Wednesday too. It really depends on for my DBF is feeling. I'll probably have to push him in a wheel chair Tuesday night anyway. I'm sure he won't be able to walk too much plus all that candy gets heavy!

I'm glad you and he are getting back to the parks. I hope you have fun at the party! I had fun when we went, it was just really crowded.
How's his recovery going?

Last year we noticed it was busier first thing and it got empty as it got later. The CM's were giving huge handfuls of candy by the end of the night.

I think our plan is to head to the candy stations towards the back of the park first.

He's still healing. He had injections in his lower back to help with the pain and he has an MRI scheduled for next week. Overall he's getting better.

Why isn't it Friday already? LOL I really want to take tomorrow off but that won't work. Well, we got Amy's costume all cut out except the lining (2 pieces) and the interfacing. YAY! :) It took a long time to pin and cut it all out because it's so big.....a full length coat. I'm used to doing things like skirts....hahahaha which we still need to do as well, skirts, 1 for her, 1 for me, but those are always easy. :) She'll be back over on Sunday so we can start sewing! :D
I need to get some laundry done tonight, I'm running low on clothes.....lol

Sure why not. :rotfl: I could always bump my trip up a year. Could rent some DVC points and get a treehouse villa. :). Or a grand villa. :).

Well, still sounds painful, but I'm glad to hear he's doing better.
I'd ask you if you've been taking care of him while dressing up in one of those naughty nurse costumes you can find in all the stores this time of year, but I know your mom will read this... :rolleyes1

Hi, Trudi. :wave2: Nothing to see here.... :p

:confused3 It seems like it should be. This week has been sooooo long.
