Hi there, I know I'm a little late to the party but can I join in? DH and I have watched Paul McKenna all week and started his programme on Tuesday. We're finding it pretty good but on the odd occassion still have a bit of difficulty figuring out if we're full or not, I guess that will become second nature after a bit. I need to lose 5stone and DH needs to lose about 4stone. I'm going to be 40 in July and refuse to have that birthday looking like this:headache: . I'd love to have a place to come to so that I have to check in my weight loss every week as I think I would help tons:flower3:

please feel free to join us and good luck :thumbsup2

Well done everyone there's been some great losses this week. :thumbsup2
Well I went to buy some new scales yesterday by the time I got back I'd put on 1.5lbs and hadn't even eaten anything:laughing: My old scales mustn't have been correct :sad1: but hey I've got some real cool scales that weigh to within a quarter pound so even if you only lose that little it's still a boost :)

I have only weighed myself for the first time since having isabelle this week so i cant say what i lost or not, will have to save that for next week,
is there going to be a new thread for each week like last year?, i have to keep checking back the pages looking for new posts this way.

Welcome aboard!!! :thumbsup2 Good luck with Paul McKenna's system. Ages ago I saw this tip on another board for helping you work out when you feel full: wear slimming pants when eating your main meal. Sounds weird but apparently the pressure on your tum from the reinforced pants will make you much more aware of feeling full. Once you recognise the feeling, it'll become second nature... :goodvibes

Thanks for the hint:thumbsup2 I'll definately give it a whirl but I can't speak for DH.....maybe just on the weekends;) :lmao:

Great thread Nat

:wizard: :wizard: Good Luck everyone with your weight losses, I hope you manage to get to your target :wizard: :wizard:

I will be weighing in on Fridays and I usually calorie count. I'll let you know on Friday what my target will be (as it's hubby's birthday tomorrow and we've got all the choccies from Christmas to finish off ;) ). All I know is that all my clothes are very tight and I look forward to getting back on track :thumbsup2

Welcome back Mandy, i hoped you would join us ;) good luck with your weigh-in x x

We should keep a weekly or monthly collective of how much we have lost. At this rate we'd sink a battle-ship if we loaded it all on there!

im going to do that before the end of January and award a small prize to someone :)

Just catching up after a busy weekend:)

I had my first weigh-in this morning and I've lost 4 and a half lbs :yay:

That's through chaning my eating habits and sticking to going to my exercise classes and the gym through-out this week. Now, just got to keep it up.

I tried my bridesmaid dress on also this week and it fits fine, but I'm still going to try and keep going because it'll look even better by May hopefully! They are only being altered in April, so the bride won't have to worry either :lmao:

Well done :thumbsup2

I weighed in and I lost 2lb this week. I was slightly dissapointed at that as I had hoped to loose more in the 1st week. Oh well, maybe I'll loose more next week.

Don't be disappointed, any loss is great and also I find that the first week my body often goes into shock (it's a well known early diet side-effect) over the lack of energy it's getting and starts storing fat! My second and third week loss is often much better as my body settles.

Everyone is doing really well! And to those people who feel a bit disappointed at 1 or 2lbs, it is still a loss and still 1 or 2lbs less to lose than you had last week!

I weighed myself this morning and I am really chuffed. I've lost just over 4lbs, and this isn't the right time of the month to be weighing myself either. Woo-hoo!

Great stuff:thumbsup2

I weighed myself this morning and I lost 5lbs this week

Well done:thumbsup2

Good luck, Mandy:thumbsup2

I've been good over the weekend - I planned our meals for yesterday and cooked the evening meal in the slow cooker which I find helps me stop tasting as I go along! We went to Pizza Express for tea tonight and I had Melanzane Parmigiana which is only 8 points and I'm guessing the slice of DH's pizza I had was about 1.5 at the most. I skipped lunch and now I feel nice and full. I know my weight loss is slow but that's how I want it as I won't feel I'm missing out.

Good luck for the week ahead everybody:thumbsup2

...I know my weight loss is slow but that's how I want it as I won't feel I'm missing out...

That's been my approach too, Joanne. I've never found it sustainable if I've felt like I'm denying myself 24/7...

 You will Claire. The time will come when it feels right, everybody has different attitudes to food and diets.
This sounds a bit "self helpish" which I am not into but for me, I realised that it felt like food was controlling me and I wanted to take back control in way whereby I decided what I wanted to eat based on how much I like it, need it, how it would make me feel and ultimately, look! I feel I should also be a better role model for my girls, they are both perfect weight and I know they eat healthily, but it's a sad fact that weight is linked to health and I want to be healthy and well if I'm ever blessed with grandchildren!
When I met Karen for coffee just before christmas I thought to myself that it was the first time in years (since being pregnant with the girls, and who cares, then!) that I was going to meet somebody for a one-to-one that hadn't seen me first and was used to my appearance. It got me wondering what Karen would make of me on first impression.
I've realised that sadly, many people (not at all including Karen in this category) treat you differently and judge you in a certain way if your are overweight.

My main problem is that I am too short for my weight:lmao:

Thanks Joanne. I just get so depressed & work myself up about it. I know that I will try hard & be fine for about two months then give up, like I always have so now I think why even bother trying! :guilty:

I know exactly what you are saying about peoples first impressions & what they think of you because of your appearance/weight, I try to avoid those situations now....:sad2:

I am 5ft 6 & also am too short for my weight! I like that saying!

Claire you will find a lot of help and support on here and most importantly motivation

its worth making a start and seeing how you get on x x every lb lost is worth the effort
