Aww, thank you

Thank-you Nat - as I mentioned above, you're great for advice and keeping people positive!![]()
Hi Rachel. I had a real problem losing weight a few years ago - however hard I tried I couldn't move it. Like you, I ate sensibly, went to the gym regularly and it was just so depressing!!! I had hit 40 and assumed it must be something to do with that...I'd like to loose another 2 stone, but I never like to take it in such large amounts. So at present I'd aim to loose another half stone by January, which will be hard I know, with Christmas and all that!
I may take you up on the smaller portions and see how I get onI think on that one though, it would only be my evening meal I'd have to make smaller. I have cereal for breakfast, sometimes Weatabix, for lunch I either have soup or a sandwich with a yoghurt for dessert. Evening meals are the ones which do vary, as it depends what time I arrive in after my exercise classes. Maybe I'm eating too much after exercise and at a later time in the day?? The only problem is, I cannot eat before I do exercise, as this makes me feel very unwell.
Argh....so hard!!
kept me bloated and heavy...
Well done to those who lost weight and those that have STS remember your scales will probably just not be showing the loss if it isn't a full lb.
I lost 2 lbs this week which I am happy with.
Though I have got a terrific urge to go out for a slap up meal.![]()
Thanks Nat.
8 days Nat & Joh
are you both excited yet?
I put on a lb this weekI'm not surprised though, I've been ill all week and when I'm ill I eat loads
Good luck everyone next week![]()
Hey guys,
Sorry I've not been about on the thread much. I've taken a two week break (so far) from weighing myself each week. I decided this as I was beginning to get myself very down on nothing actually happening or a couple of lbs creeping back on.
At the moment I'm not in the correct mind-set to keep weighing in each week, as I feel it will not help me out much. I will continue to check the thread and report in on how I'm feeling/doing as I've quite enjoyed the support and it's been good to see all your journeys since January.
I'm still continuing to watch what I eat, as I've still lost a total of 1 stone since starting out in January and I don't wish to put this weight back on at all. But for now, I'll be an observer on this thread and hopefully I can continue to give support to you all as you keep going on your journey!!
I will be back as a regular weigh-in person, I'm just not sure when.
I'd also like to add a massive thank-you to Natalie for keeping the thread running and lending tons of support to everyone!![]()
STS for me this week.
And after all that I have to say I have STS this week but not bothered as I am in my 'normal' band for my height/age and just 4 lbs off my target.
Good luck to everyone on their weigh in's this week.
.......Anyway, long story short, my DH tried cutting out carbs as he wanted to lose a few pounds, I joined in and the weight started to shift! I couldn't believe it!!! It turned out that over time, I had developed a wheat allergy and all the pasta, bread and cereal I was eating (however small the amounts) kept me bloated and heavy... So, I now keep my diet as gluten-free as possible and losing weight is straightforward - well, as far as it can be!!! I feel so much better in myself - way more energy etc - and generally life is good... It might be worth a try...![]()
.....I am also trying to cut out bread, ....
Wow!!! That's another great side effect then, Jakki!I could never understand why, within a few days of coming home from Florida I'd start to get blocked up in my sinuses and my ears. I was convinced I was allergic to something in the house / bed and spent a fortune changing pillows duvets etc.,
When I started this diet back in November I decided to give up bread for a while and within a week my sinuses had totally cleared up and it was only then that I realised that, as it's so rubbish, I never ate bread in Florida so the "problem" when I got home was because I was having bread again. I also noticed that I didn't feel as sluggish and stopped snoring straight away

I'm so glad I eventually realised the connection. In fact, this (in conjunction with several other factors) convinced my DD's partner (now a doctor) that I had coeliac disease! TBH I dismissed this at first BUT, at his instigation, I recently had a blood test which seemed to confirm his opinion and, as a result, so many health mysteries have fallen into place... I don't know if I ever would've worked it out (I was misdiagnosed with IBS for YEARS!!!) without trying a carb-free diet so it definitely worked for me in more ways than one...![]()
What a shame that your supposed IBS wasn't investigated properlyWell done to Joe for spotting it though !
OMG don't get me started, Nat!!! My GP is beyond useless, honestly - if she can't throw anti-depressants your way, she really doesn't want to know...![]()
.....I was unwell a few years ago with persistent flu-like symptoms - absolutely no energy, just wanted to lie down all the time, incredibly tired, couldn't do anything without massive waves of nausea etc etc. Anyway, it just dragged on and on. She was convinced I had ME FGSbut it took an emergency dental visit to discover (via x rays) that severely impacted sinuses were the root of my problems!!! Two courses of antibiotics later and some over the counter sinus drugs and I was 100%!!!
- thank god you found out the real reason. It just goes to show that what we put into our body seriously affects how we function.
I lost 0.7kg this week and I'm now 1.5kg off target. I've revised it slightly as my neck is starting to look a bit crepeyso I don't want to loose much more for now. I might go for some serious toning over the next couple of months and then see from there.
I'm off to WW tomorrow and as I'm going from an evening class to a morning class so I'm bound to have lost on the scales![]()
