When we bought our new computer, DH set up only one user. This quickly became a problem as I really don't want his contacts or his calendar as they are both far too huge.

I spent the better part of the day today setting up a separate user name for myself on our new mac, with the help of an in store "genius" specializing during a one to one training session, and then after speaking to 4 people over the phone. The fourth guy was the charm. He helped me get the 11,000 plus digital pictures and all my albums over to my user name so I can organize to my heart's content, got my new separate iCloud account up and working, and helped me move the syncing operation from the DH's side of the computer over to mine.

This dude was great, he even gave me his direct phone number and email. I sent a glowing review to his boss.

Over the weekend we figured out how to scan our non-digital pictures.

I am straining this ancient brain far past its capacity to learn.

Apple is going to be losing money on me.

Too bad.

Had a busy day yesterday but have been thinking about you LMP and wanted you to know that you were in thoughts and prayers (still are).

I may be breaking down and getting an iPhone. I have been having a lot of issues with my droid but could be as simple as a virus or else its the touch screen dying from my excessive use. R wants me to get the iPhone, I want the Galaxy S II. Not available yet to Verison. But I have had missed some calls last week to work (maybe because the volume was down and maybe not) but can't have that. I wasn't on call at least. Going to see R next week. I added a day. I am hoping that he doesn't have a roll out, since I am arriving on Thursday night at 855pm CST.

Laurie are you in an office during the day?? Maybe R will let me use his car after he comes home for lunch and can say hello. I need to find out where he lives compared to you first. (just did... 11-12 miles from him if I take either the interstate or the 426.) I also just checked and my Aunt lives 5-6 miles from him. She I would have to see one of my trips because its been years and is "older".

Sha, I have had my iPhone4 going on 13 months now. I appreciate it even more since our pc bit the dust and we bought the iMac last October.

I already had DH's music synced to my mac from the pc. But now with the iMac and since I have my now user name and iCloud account, I can set up my own music but still get the benefit of any music he adds to his library on his touch. The best part though is syncing the pictures. I have already set up 30 albums so far in iPhoto on the iMac from the best of our 10 years plus of digital pictures. It syncs with my iPhone wirelessly.

I really like this aspect, and although I am still in the infant stages of learning this stuff, I see real potential.

It doesn't hurt that we coughed up $99 for this one-to-one training sessions at the apple store for a year, like I mentioned yesterday. We really needed to opt into this which you can only obtain if you sign up when you purchase the computer. I don't think Apple advertises this very much, probably because it is hard to maintain the "geniuses" who wait on you. The one I like at my Apple store can even do the high end video stuff. He could probably make $300/hour consulting with the video stuff. There are many movies made here and in New Orleans so it is a hot industry here.

I am not techy, like MaryAnn suggested. I really do not enjoy trying to troubleshoot stuff. I have no problem though asking a true techy person in person or over the phone what might be basic stuff.

I play the age card a lot.

I am also trying to learn certain things to help my mom as she struggles even more with her new iMac, especially the syncing stuff.

One problem with her right now is that she can't seem to retain much. My sister and i are helping keeping her computer, iPad, iPhone working. Helps that we are all on the same hardware and operating systems now, although I have yet to buy an iPad.

I have not seen the need for that yet.

Sha, can you postpone your purchase until the iPhone 5 comes out? I am not sure when that will be, but sometime this year. I think there will be a big change from iPhone 4S to the 5.

Barbara, I got a kick out of you bringing up your typo. Love that attitude.

I am taking DD16 and 3 friends to New Orleans tonight to hear an author they love give a talk, John Green. It should be quite a night. We are going to grab dinner somewhere and also try to see DD21's boyfriend's little dachshund that he just adopted.

DH is leaving today for a duck hunting trip. It was a crazy evening last night with everyone getting ready. DD16 also seemed to have too much homework. I wish I did not have to wake up so early this morning. It will midnight at the earliest before I get home.

Maybe i should have played that age card when DD16 asked me to take them for this event?

Thank you all for all of your prayers. Its really a blessing to me.

The meeting yest. was interesting. This person told me to stop worrying and just trust God as things are out of my control etc. and keep praying. He said..worrying cant be good for your cancer. I said, yes I know.

Now this person will be working behind the scenes to help our family and he said we must go see another person today who will be the main person helping us. This person is suppose to have excellent credentials so we shall see. They said this will probably be a long and drawn out process.

Then we we got home there was a message about my sono tomm. Apparently another dr. is doing it whom I dont even know. Not happy about this at all. Looked her up online and she has glowing reviews. So I guess I am stuck with her as apparently my ob/gyn does not do surgery. So if something is found that is wrong, I am assuming this. dr. will do the surgery etc.

Then in the mail I found a nice little surprise. A $100 gift card to a store. I was only one of 50 national winners (my little sweepstakes hobby). I am going to keep it and donate it to the church for one of their projects next fall. Either for the school or buying warm winter stuff for a shelter.

Mine is slow too Laurie... had trouble last night when I was working on an admission in the patients home too. I thought it was a connection issue.

Maybe after R goes back to work Friday I will have you come by and maybe run an errand if I may??? Grab some coffee or something (my treat). Would feel more comfortable visiting outside his house at the time being since he isn't going to be there. I will need to get a key from him.

Maryann that sounds really good about the newer doctor. I know you like to know all about them etc but as the saying goes.. If God brings you to it, He will get you through it. And maybe that is where she comes in. I know everyone can tell you until they are blue in the face to stop worrying, but its only natural and especially when it is you or a family member. Just know you are in all of our thoughts and prayers. That is really great about the gift card and something great to use it for!!

Oh the phone... the 5 may be delayed until fall vs this spring and I know my phone will not last that long. Im about to throw it at times I get so frustrated with it. I was hitting the home button the other morning (early) and instead it clicked on my neighbors name and called her. Back to work before a work in MD appt.

I had the breast MRI. That was something! Longest 20 minutes of my life. I should hear something in the next day or so. Keeping my hopes up (and fingers crossed) for good news.

Sorry I have been MIA, but it's been a rough 10 days. I wasn't feeling great after restarting chemo on the 6th, which was to be expected. I usually start feeling better about a week after, but I actually felt worse this time. Was absolutely miserable from last Saturday until yesterday. Loss of appetite, achy all over, kidney pain and being bloated. I thought it was from the new drug until I talked to one of the women in my support group. She was experiencing the same symptoms and has heard of other people here having the same thing. So, I'm hoping that it was just some type of bug and that things go better on the 27th when I have my next chemo. This is the time of year when sickness is rampant because of all the snowbirds that bring germs with them from their hometowns. It's time for me to become a hermit again and avoid public places for awhile.
