I wrote a whole reply within Linda's post, scrolled down to finish and it disappeared, ugh.

Linda- Thank you for all the helpful info. I printed some out. Unfortunately when I found him lying unconscious I panicked and I didn't look for his vital signs, just tried to rouse him. He was a little disoriented, and was up walking around telling us the blood needed to be cleaned up (there was a lot of it) He was simply unconscious, no signs of seizures. He didn't trip and fall. I saw him go up the steps and our kitchen isn't large so he didn't go far. He had no warning, didn't feel light headed, he said it was a whoosh, and that's all he remembered. I told him, I don't know if it's related to the panic attacks, but he was not having any trouble before that. In fact we were pretty happy, his long weekend had already started and we had fun plans. I told him I think he may have more than one thing going on.

Yesterday he spent most of the day sleeping. By late afternoon he wanted to take a walk. We got less than a block and he needed to turn around. He was unsteady but wouldn't stop and sit. He said when he hit the door his throat was dry. I got him water and called the dr. The answering service dr. called back and I explained the background to her and let him talk to her. She said she thought he was dehydrated. It's true, he slept most of the day and he hadn't eaten since lunch and this was close to dinnertime. He drank lots of water and we spent the rest of the evening in bed watching t.v.

I need to get him an appt. Wed. to have his stitches out, plus he and I both need Tetanus shots...oh yeah, and it's our 19th anniversary on Wed. lol When he has his f/u next week with his primary I plan on going with him, so he can have an advocate. I will definitely ask about the cardiologist. Again, thank you!

Laurie- I'm glad you are making the best of an awful situation. Still praying for you...

Linda- I forgot, two years ago they did mention an EP study but it was never followed up. He had a Trans-Esophageal Echocardiogram which was negative. I think he should have the EP study.
I don't know if we can or even should try to keep our trip.

Laura, I know, it's very hard not knowing what the heck is going on. If it happens again, check his pulse. It would be helpful to know what it's doing during an episode - fast, slow, or normal. Again, have him be careful with anything that brings on symptoms, especially changing positions. Don't hesitate to call 911 because they can get him hooked up quickly to see what's actually going on with his heart, and they also have the equipment and skill to act if they need to.

The big thing is going to be finding out what's causing this. Your primary doc can lead the way here in getting him to see the right people and ordering testing - asap. It can be tricky, no doubt, figuring it out (neuro vs cardiac, etc). But it's important to get to the bottom of it because of the potential for injury (driving, fainting, cooking, swimming, operating machinery, etc). Your primary care doc could order a holter monitor placed to start which records all heart rates and rythms over 24 or more hours while the patient keeps a log of activities for correllation. Here's a good article which explains types of arrythmias (yes, there are lots) and testing. http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/guide/heart-disease-abnormal-heart-rhythm

I hope you've seen the end of it and that it was some flukey thing. Keeping you guys in my prayers. PM anytime if I can be of any help.

Saying loads of prayers for Laurie and others in the path of Gustav.............

Maureen - I hope Hanna decides to go somewhere OTHER than towards you guys! :wizard: (And Ike, too!)

Linda - Oogie posted some pics on the Oly thread for you. ;) But if you really want to see lots of his pics, click the link in my signature. I posted bunches of his shots in my trip report. Shhh. Don't tell him I told you. He was mad that I posted "his" pics. I told him nobody on the Photo forum reads trip reports so he can post whatever he wants. It took him 45 minutes to post the 6 pics on the Oly thread. It was quite a struggle, but he is learning!

My thoughts are on everyone within harm's way. Hope we're all safe. I'm off to bed soon. It's been a busy weekend.

jsg, LOL, we get "touchy" about our photos! :snooty: I saw them, I'm glad he posted. They look great! (I still haven't finished reading all of your report but I will. It made us soooo want to be there!)

I've been sick today and went to bed early, woke up a little while ago when the phone rang. I've been nauseas all day, haven't even eaten anything. This strange little 36hr virus is going around our neighborhood - DH/DS had it last week, now it's DD and I. I just checked her temp she's 102.2 after motrin, can't swallow, and has white patches all in her throat which could be strep. Guess I'll be making a trip to the doc's tomorrow. School starts Wed.

Laura, how are things going with hubby? I hope he hasn't had any further episodes.

I hope we hear from Laurie soon. :worried:

Laurie- I hope all is well at your home. I was so grateful to see Gustav was not as powerful as they feared coming in. Post when you are able, you know we are waiting to hear from you!

Linda- I'm so worried about him. He continues to have episodes of feeling light headed, out of sorts. I don't know what to think, but I am going to call MY primary dr today. She is in the same practice as hubby's dr, but I know her and she is very good about being thorough. One of our aborted outings was to the pharmacy to have his Xanax filled to see if it helped at all, if part of him feeling this way was being worried about losing consciousness again. His primary forgot to date it and they couldn't fill it until they called the dr. to confirm on Tue. He has been drinking lots and lots of water to be hydrated, so that is not the problem. My hospital and Hopkins both have specialties managing arrhythmia and I know of at least 2 other hospitals in the area with renown heart centers. I'll ask my primary where she would go. He'll need his chin stitches out tomorrow, and we both need tetanus shots. I hope she can see him then and send him for an EP study SOON. Thank you again for all the helpful info, and the prayers it means so much to me.

GAGWTA!

Linda - I hope you and DD feel better soon! :wizard:

Laura - Good luck getting some direction from the Dr. for DH! :wizard: I hope you can find some answers!

Laurie - Hope all is well!

Laurie... thoughts and prayers that you and others in the area are okay. I hope that storm gets out of there faster than they think.

Still praying for those in the line of all these storms. Hope we hear something soon.

Laura, I forgot to say anything earlier, but I hope that you find out what's going on with your DH. Sounds like you've got some excellent advice about pursuing an answer. Since I'm not an expert, I'll just say it seems to be sound advice to me. Since I'm no help there, I'll stick to what I know something about. I'll pray.

Greetings ladies... is there a link to what the events are for the RFC at Disney??? I am bringing my mom down that weekend, and before I start making plans for dining etc I was wanting to see what was happening.

I haven't been reading the thread too much lately, and I have been trying to remember you all in prayers. Hugs and pixie dust for you all!

Laurie called and left a message today to say she and her family all made it through ok but are still without electricity and internet. She asked me to post to let you all know. Her house apparently held up well too, but there are a lot of trees down. There are camera crews wandering around her neighborhood so she says look closely when you watch news reports and you might see her house! Great news. :goodvibes

DD and I are still sick. The pediatrician was concerned with her throat because it's very inflammed and her tonsils are touching so there's not a lot of room for food and fluids. I have to push fluids and if they get bigger or the fever doesn't subside, bring her back in - rapid strep was negative (isn't it always?) I was up most of the night checking on her. Today ran around but finally had some food and got a nap in this afternoon. Still having waves of nausea. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Thanks for the update on Laurie. And get to feeling better. There are several nasty bugs going around. My friend's son just got over a virus that made him run a high fever for days and have blisters in his throat. It wasn't strep. :confused3 Be sure to take good care of yourself.

Linda - I am so glad that Laurie & Family are OK! I hope they have power restored soon!
I hope you and DD are on the mend soon! Sore throats are the WORST. There is just nothing you can take or do to make it feel better. :sad2: Hopefully it will run it's course quickly! :wizard:

DH called a little while ago to tell me he posted a photo all by himself. I asked him if he loaded it to PhotoBucket or if it was one I had already loaded so he just had to copy and paste. He wasn't sure. :rotfl2: Oh, my. I don't know about him sometimes.

I liked the pictures he posted jsg. :goodvibes

You might have seen these but I thought I'd post them here too. This is my DS, the little Navy buff, happy as all get out touring a battleship with us and my brother the other day. (I am struck by this picture because in this one he looks a lot like my BIL who passed - DH's brother.)

Great pictures! Thanks for the update on Laurie. She has been in my prayers for days now! We here in south Florida are looking at a potential hurricane drama later this week. And my daughter and I had Jonas Brothers tickets.:confused3

Feel better Linda:hug:
