thank you all for the prayers, and positive thoughts.
the ultrasound took all of 15 min. the girl who did it is the same girl who had done my preg. and my gallbladder one too. ( i told her she is getting to know me very well, lol).
she was very good and did the areas of concern, and also quite a bit around them.
the first thing she asked me was if i had a lot of caffeine in my diet? she said that she could see that. (not sure what that means really but ok,more dense maybe???)
she also said that she found no cysts, or any solid masses, and her words "that was good news". she thinks that what was felt by the dr, might have been more pronounced due to hormones as i was at the end of my period. she said that her dr. and my own still had to read the films. so i know that this is still not 100% but, she did seem very upbeat and gave an impression of it is good news. now i just wonder what it is/was that is there.(it is still felt on one breat but very very small(this is the one i have had forever too) and can't seem to find it on the other to feel at all). though i do have lumpy breasts she said. so once again thank you all for thinking of me today.
when i have the dr's answers i will be sure to update that part. just having some answer is nice though.

the strength and courage that you all show leaves me in awe, and proud to have met such strong women!! my thoughts and prayers are with you all for always!! thank you all for listening and "getting it" when and why i ramble, lol.

I used to work at a preschool where the teachers drank iced tea all day long. Add to that my love of Coke and chocolate and there was a lot of caffeine in my diet back then. I went to my OBGYN with a concern about a lump in my breast. He felt it and wasn't concerned. He told me to cut down on the caffeine and watch it. If it didn't change in a month I was to call him again. It went away. His explanation was that some women get lumpy areas that go up and down (I forget what he called them) sometimes hormonal and sometimes due to caffeine. He had me feel the difference on a fake breast between a lump of concern and ones that weren't a big worry. Glad to hear that you had a good feeling today.

I'm almost packed. Thanks for all the good wishes. Can't wait to head to Florida. A vacation will jump-start our whole family. We needed some R&R.

I'm doing well today....thank you all for asking and for thinking of me and the prayers and support!'
..back to work today and busy busy. Just a tiny bit of soreness...just tylenol...the itching of the dressing tape is the main annoyance ;) ....that'll come off inthe morning and I'll take a nice real long shower! We went ver to UNH tonight for dinner w/DD and 1st hockey playoff game. They won :) I had a long coversation with my SIL this morning about the eagle image...besides being an RN she is very into Native Ameican spirituality and healing medicine (forgive me if I've mentioned that before). Anyway...it was a very interesting and comforting conversation...really has helped me today to push negative thoughts and worry out of my mind as I wait for results.

Hi Merry!! have a GREAT trip!!

Donna- That's great news for Monique! Thanks so much for passing it along to us! :Pinkbounc

Wendie- Yes, caffiene and hormones can cause this lumpiness and some women have fibrous cystic breasts too. It's so good that you are becoming familiar with what's normal and not for you. Yes, ask about the breast form that MerryPoppins mentioned. Every gyn or breast doc's office should have one. It will really help you to learn the difference between "normal" lumpiness and an area of concern. :flower:

Ann- You sound great sista! Congrats on the win!!! :cheer2:

:Pinkbounc :cool1:  :woohoo:
all clear!!! just benign microcalcs!!

no time to post...on my way out...

thanks and hugs...be back later

ALL RIGHT!!!!!!!!

Yea, Ann!!!!!

I could not wait to get back home.
I was at DD10's 4th grade classroom, doing a scriptural stations of the cross using a wonderful candelabra that my sis's dear husband made out of driftwood.

You were on my mind, Ann and Kelly and Laura and Linda and Monique and Susan and Donna and Beth and the other Kelly and the Hat when were saying the stations and prayers afterward.

Prayers answered for Ann.

Hoping for everyone else as well.

Love to you all.

Oh Ann what great news! Many congrats!!

Merry, have a great trip.

Glad to hear good news on Monique!

Last night was a big night for my class.... to kick off "Read Across Asia" we all went to the local Japanese steak house (you know, where they do all the stuff at the table, chop, chop!) with their parents, etc. There was 64 of us altogether! What fun! Lots of pictures and smiles and hugs. Got a beautiful silk arrangement from all my parents and a card they all wrote in. It was great!

Today went well. They had a huge manila envelope stuffed with cards they had made all week. Got a Thumper, Simba and Nala, Barnes and Noble Gift Certificate, Bath and Body Works Stuff, Flowers, a great book, some homemade bath salts, more cards, and lots of hugs. I told them they would e-mail me while I was gone and by the time I got home one of them had! LOL. They are so sweet!

Got everytyhing ready for my sub. A monkey could come in and run my room at this point!

I feel good and know that many prayers are going up for me. I plan on taking it easy this weekend. I'm ready.

(PS.... should have avoided the "Anyone Survive Lung Cancer" thread. UGH!)
Beth

Beth,

I'm glad you had a special day! Don't you worry about that cancer thread...you can beat this and everyone here is pulling for you to recover with flying colors! My prayers are with you as you have your surgery.

I wanted you to know Beth, my maternal grandfather had lung cancer when he was in his late fifties. He was a heavy smoker for many years. He lived to the ripe old age of 78 in 1984 totally cancer free, even though he was handicapped (he had one leg severed in a train wreck at age 21 and it could not be saved. He was nicest, red headed, blued eyed (just like my DD10), one legged man you ever could meet up with.

He had part of one lung removed, no other treatment, and that was a long time ago.

Hey guys, the shrimp man showed up at DH's office building. We are having shrimp etoufee tonight, if I ever get off this computer. Not much of a sacrifice for Lent, is it?

gotta go make my roux.

Many many thanks for your prayers and support :)
I don't think I have EVER felt such relief...the surgeon's office admin lady was the one that called...and said they still want me to come in on Monday (DH is convinced they just want another office visit fee from the ins compnay ) but they wanted me to know before the weekend that the path report was fine.

Beth....glad you had a good day with your class. And I agree with the others...just try tp block out the negative stories and enbrace the postive. You ARE a survivor and you are going to beat this one. DH has a college frat friend who was Dxed last year and is doing extremely well! :grouphug:

:tigger:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:tigger:

Ann- I am so thrilled to read this!!! :woohoo: Enjoy a stress free weekend!

Beth- You sound great! Your class and parents really surrounded you in love...they've had a great teacher! :teacher: I'm sorry, I can't remember if they determined that you had bc mets to the lung or lung cancer...
I try not to read stuff that is not positive or encouraging, not that I stick my head in the sand either. But I've been around this cancer stuff for 7yrs now, and I know how unpredictible it is! You have lots of prayers and support here...You're a survivor sista - go get 'em! :cheer2:

Laurie- Thank you for remembering us...that means so much to me! I wish a shrimp man would come to my house - yum! Or maybe I should just invade your place for some etoufee! ;)

It's been a gorgeous weekend here so far! Hubby pulled out the grill and back porch swing... :cloud9: Winter's almost over sistas!!!

:grouphug:

Sure, Laura, you are welcome anytime. I'll even spring for crawfish etouffee if you'd join us. It is the season.

Spring has sprung here too. My azalias are still blooming, but some are past their prime. I have all different varieties and colors, they seem to be on different time frames for blooming. My DH spent hours yesterday spraying for weeds and ants. Today it is on to fertilizer. Then back to the painting job he has not been able to get to since before Christmas due to work pressure, family pressure, etc.

I am going to see my endicrinologist Wed to check my insulin and thyroid stuff. I am feeling fine so I imagine the visit will be short and sweet.

I got a call from my best bud in New Orleans this week. She called as soon as she saw the music lineup for Jazz fest this year. Bruce Springsteen will play on April 30th, and we are there. Both he and Jimmy Buffet were our fav musicians when we were young and crazy in our 20's and 30's (before kids).
I imagine our teens will want to join us, but we have agreed they can't be around during Bruce's set. I am afraid we might not set a very good example. :teeth:

Anyone else like to indulge in a little New Orleans jazz (and other music)? Bob Dylan is also playing, on another day. Some big companies like Shell are ponying up some money to help support this year's fest. We are big fans, we have quite a collection of fest posters dating back to 1980. Those were the days, my friends.

Oh, get this, my MIL decided to have her Lakeview house rebuilt to sell in th future (she has decided to live with Claudette when her home is ready). I might have told you :confused3. Apparently what many are doing is gutting houses, fixing roofs and then leaving it sit through hurricane season to see how the levees hold. If all goes well there will be a lot of construction jobs after November of this year. One of her grandsons is a contractor, and he'll have his subs do it without charging her an override. She actually received the flood insurance check this week (still waiting on homeowners for the roof and upstairs up). She even decided to take out a small SBA loan. They have very low interest rates. I say go for it. I hope I am that feisty when I am 82. :goodvibes I love the idea of taking out a long term loan at that age.

Claudette is working part time. Life is good.

Thank y'all for being here.

Thinking of you in advance of your surgery, Beth.

Ann, congratulations on your great news.

Beth, sounds like you have a wonderful class. Will be praying for you. I try not to read too much as I get nervous too. My DIL who is a nurse told me to try not to read too much.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, thoughts, hugs, and prayers for all.

Donna
ps on Friday, I was doing a tax return, and over the top of my computer, I saw a Mickey Mouse baloon. I didn't have to wonder who the bouquet was for. It's a joke in the office about my desk, Mickey Mouse calculator, business card holder, paper weight, and tape dispenser.
It was from one of the offices that used to be in our district, who was shifted to another district. Most of the office have taken classes that I have taught at one time or another. They had been asking how I was doing, and decided to send me a little love.

That's what makes the world go around.

snappy........I'd love to join you for The Boss and the shrimp....my DH would love the crawfish though! :cheer2:

The last 2 mornings I have slept...really slept...til well past 9 o'clock!! :faint:
I can't remember the last time I stayed in bed that late...actually sleeping. Ya think I needed to make up for some this week or what?!?!?!

Ann, it is excellent that you are sleeping, you deserve it!! I am still celebrating your news.

I can't imagine sleeping til 9 though. The birds around here are making such a racket, we are up early (DH and I that is, forget our teens). Maybe I should stop feeding them all the sunflower seeds? :confused3 the birds that is, not the teens. :lmao:

We would love to have you come down for Jazz Fest. Maybe we should have a DIS meet down here. Or would that be a Survivor meet?

We are kinda experienced at having lots of people crash from hurricane season. Everyone is welcome. We'll also supply the mosquito repellent (they sure are biting tonight), the cayenne, the French bread and the Tobasco.

DH is still working on painting the Kilz layer on the house (no mold or mildew will ever dare on the outside of our house). It may be Christmas before we get to the actual paint though.

GAGWTA!!!
