DIS boards pet peeves

Okay, I am probably posting this because I am in a cranky mood! But what are some of your peeves of the boards?
Mine are:
1- people ask questions that have been asked hundreds of times because they didn't search
2 - questions being asked about matter-of-fact Disney things that could be found on DIS home, or any Disney website for that matter
posters
3- new posters who come on and immediately bash something or someone on boards but then claim they are not trolls!

so what? if the answer is asked over and over, you'll know the answer, fell smarter, and enjoy life more.

People who ask for life changing advice from anonymous total strangers on a discussion board.

When you ask a question, and a number of people answer it but its all the same answer just phrased differently.

And when you say you had a bad stay at some hotel, bad meal etc. Then a million posters write, Oh but mine was great. OK I'm sure it was, but mine still stunk!

Oh boy, this exact thread has been done before and has the potential to get ugly. I know. I innocently started one a while back.

Since then I personally have learned that I have alot of DIS board pet peeves but I try to keep them to myself for two reasons:

1. Chances are that every pet peeve I have, I am guilty of committing myself at least once somewhere along the way,

2. It's just easier to ignore them.

But this thread could get interesting........

This is mine as well. In fact, it took me 4 "refreshes" to get into the thread and 2 to post a reply. This has been happening a lot lately and it's really iritating.

When there's breaking news and 10 people post that breaking news instead of making sure no one else already broke the news!!

There's been a lot of strange threads (subjects) posted lately asking for some strange advice!!

I'm forgiving of those asking the same questions. Maybe they are new and aren't familiar with the search? I have seen where sometimes people will just search for them and give them a link. I have requested links to other threads before if I couldn't find it under a search. (Sometimes it comes back with EVERYTHING!)

I hate "server busy", you must wait X-seconds to post again, and when someone has to post rude comments!

I believe you! It happens. (Mine was awhile ago.)
I started a thread on favorite desserts and the very next day someone started the exact same thread with the same title. It happens. I've done it to others and they've done it to me.

And I know I've asked questions that might have been answered before and I know that there are some I could find the out the answers for myself but prefer to ask here. Lazy I guess.

I guess we all have our pet peeves, and there are things others do to annoy us, just like there are things we do to annoy others. No big deal.

I love the DisBoards so not too much bothers me. I don't mind the same questions over and over because it makes me feel like I have some actual uselful knowledge I can share.

But two things I REALLY don't like.....

Posts filled with ridiculously annoying words like "brekky"

Posts that attack

Other than that, I love the Dis. I can even forgive the server for it's occasional indiscretions.

When someone asks a question and you get 20 answers - all the same!

someone starts a thread about some harrowing situation that is going on with them, a child, a loved one in their home...and solicits opinions on what they should do. then as people post ideas the op makes every argument against doing any of them or defends self for not doing it. it becomes op-response, op-response over and over (i start to question the validity of the post if they are sitting for HOURS with an argumentative post every 2 minutes rather than addressing personaly "the problem" and/or also posting during the "crisis" to the "my favorite recipie/who's that actor?" types of posts). same with a hot harrowing situation that cools down and gets relativly few posts after several days (bounces back to page 3 or 4) then suddenly op posts that something happened THAT VERY DAY (and their first response within minutes of "getting the call" was to post it on the dis boards ?) makes me wonder...

Since I didn't see this one posted yet, I'll add mine.
When people reply to a thread "subscribing". Ah, that annoys me!!!
