I'm considering booking my next trip direct with Disney.

Of course, this would mean booking the flight seperately, something I've never done before.

Does anyone know of any companies who offer good deals on direct flights to Orlando?

Thanks!

Travel City Direct is the cheapest for non-stop direct flights (according to the man at sky travel!)

However we like to fly in at Orlando Airport and have seat back tvs so chose between Virgin or BA (and pay the price for this)

Good luck

It varies wildy dependant on the demand and level of buisness any company has. The best thing to do is check with pages such as
www.expedia.co.uk
www.travelocity.co.uk
www.airline-network.com
for the scheduled flights, you ca get osme good deals. If you want only direct flightds make sure you tick the box for direct only when you do the seach. If you are leaving it later then looking a the charter airlines will sometimes give you some good bargins out of busy season.

last time we went & it was back in 2003, Travel city direct were the cheapest we could find for direct flights.

We had no problems with them

try checking out teletext on itv page 222 (sad we know the number by heart) it has the florida flights listed there is usaly 58 pages (sad again) must know them all by heart by know use the analog broadcast not the digital signal (sad tecno)

Id keep and eye out for any sales also, while normally one company can be cheaper sometimes the others have special offers on and give you a better deal!

also try skydeals-phone number on teletext 222
they do virgin flights :sunny:

Do you have to have fly-drive? Or can you have flight only?

Travelled a number of times to MCO and Sanford usually with fly-drive but you can book a flight with seperate car hire. Most fly drive companies will insist on you using their "free" car as they say it subsidises the price of the flight. How can that happen? Well the Car Hire company charges you a large premium for the necessary insurance. You can however purchase your own insurance although companies like Dollar say they accept nobodies in substitution for their own. If you chose to use your own they will require an "imprint" of a credit card for $1,500. They don't take that money but simply get clearance to do so. I have taken seperate flights and car hire on two occasions without problem and the companies weren't any more particular on inspecting the car than when I returned it after using their insurance. Generally you can get Car Hire and Insurance much cheaper than part of a Fly-Drive Deal. However you need to consider the greater availability of fly-drives and sometimes the overall package can be cheaper. You might like to try some-one like airline network to compare the price of flight only to fly-drives. They also do seperate car hire but this will include insurance from the Car Hire Company. There are not many companies offering insurance but one of these is available to people with a Nat-West Credit Card. If you do want a car which is useful as everyone drives everywhere and need a cost for seperate insurance let me know and I'll dig out the name of the company I used. Oh yes, if your fortunate to be able to travel abroad more than once in a year the Car Insurance is for a year not just one trip!

Kind Regards

www.dialaflight.co.uk found me a very cheap flight this time round. Last time I phoned them with the details of the flight I wanted to be on, (Thomson direct from Newcastle), and they got it over £100 cheaper than the Thomson web price.

Have you looked on Going places website they do some good deals (45% off) this year we went with Virgin because they were the cheapest at the time, last year TCD.

Surprised no one has mentioned flyglobespan.com - their "no-frills" service starts in June from Glasgow and seriously undercuts other scheduled services like Virgin and BA, both of whom have gone badly downhill in recent years IMHO. I take the view that service is usually poor anyway and flying is 9 hours of hell so I'll just go with the cheapest.

Which is best Virgin Atlantic or British Airways ?

You will get a split decision on this one, there have been threads on this subject recently and Virgin were more popular, we have always gone with VA and until BA decide to put direct flights on from Manchester we always will.

I had never heard of these - Ive just priced our trip in July and found that the buisness class was nearly the price I paid for Mytravel Premierair -

Wish I'd known about these before - but I've book marked them for future years!

Thanks

If you want to fly direct your only carrier choices are charter operators or BA or Virgin. If you want to fly direct from a non-London airport your choice falls further.

Of the Charter flights First Choice is generally regarded to have the best fleet at the moment. Travel City Direct is generally the cheapest - but quality can suffer.

Of the scheduled carriers, I think the best BA deals can be booked on line via the BA website at www.ba.com

For Virgin you can often book cheaper flights (albeit with accom or as a fly drive) through Virgin Holidays rather than direct through Virgin Atlantic. Virgin also uses consolidators such as Funway www.funwayholidays.co.uk who offer cheaper Virgin flights than Virgin does direct.

Finally, you asked about Direct flights HOWEVER you can generally get cheaper flights on US scheduled carriers (USAirways is particularly good IMHO) flying via Charlotte or other hub airports. Whilst the journey time for these flights is longer than flying direct via BA or Virgin, they are generally far more stable than charter flights. TCD in particular has a reputation for delays - a recent one was 43 hours.

Ultimately you pays your money and takes your choice. I hope this helps.

A Virgin fly drive was cheaper than flying with them for me. Tho its a shame cos I would have preferred to have left from Glasgow.
