OK everyone I need some adivce. I JUST found out that my direct flight has been cancled and switched to a flight that has a lay over. GRRR!!!!! I can no longer to my resort BWI in time for the illuminations cruise! Is it worth the time haggling with North West to try to get on an earlier flight . I mean the first flight i booked was perfect. This one is just bad getting in a full 3.5 hours later than the first one.
If you have any ideas or advice on what I can do Please let me know. I've never had this problem before!!

First a comment meant as constructive criticism, so please take it that way.

You should never book anything with a cancellation policy for teh day you are arriving. So many things could go wrong, from an earlier flight hitting a moose on the runway thus closing the airport to a storm in Atlanta that backs up routes system wide.

That said, I'd call Northwest and tell them you want an earlier flight. If they can't or won't accomodate you, start looking at other carriers and cancel for a full refund, and rebook elsewhere.

I'm in the exact same boat! I just got the email from Northwest saying we can't go directly from Grand Rapids either! I'm going to try to haggle with Northwest today too because I certainly don't want to get into Orlando at 10 pm rather than 6 pm. Hope it works out for you and I!

UPDATE: Northwest gave me an earlier flight with absolutely no hassle and no charge. We'll now get in an hour earlier than before, but we still have to go through Detroit. Nonstop through Grand Rapids would have been wonderful, but it just must not be feasible to Northwest to keep providing it or something.

You might call Disney and see if there is any (remote :) ) possibility of changing your Illuminations cruise. If not you might look to fly in the night before, use PL for an inexpensive room by MCO.

I guess this means they are doing away with the nonstop from GRR-MCO :(

Does anyone know what date they are stopping this particular route is? I am booked for a 4/20 departure and a 4/25 return on the non-stops and everything looks good so far.

Perhaps they are stopping it 5/1?

(Sigh) I had heard this flight was full all the time!! :confused3

No non-stops out of Lansing to MCO. There was one out of Flint that was added the same time as the Grand Rapids flight was on Northwest. I have no idea if that one is still operating.

As of now, the NWA nonstops to and from Flint are still operating. I'm booked on it for Easter. Hope it stays that way!
