Does anyone have any advice/experience with this promotion? Basically you can purchase vouchers now at $150 per RT ticket and starting April 12, call and make reservations. I'm interested in using this for our mid August trip. Does anyone know if they block certain dates/ destinations, anything like that? I don't want to puirchase 6 vouchers, then have our dates blocked.....TIA

Nice catch!
You probably already saw this, I got it off their web site.
They sound great.
Too good to be true?
I hope someone who used them will post a reply.

Direct Air is bringing back the popular Family Ties Sale just in time for Summer Vacation. Family Ties certificates are so convenient because travel dates are open-ended and passenger names are not required at the time of booking. It's easy to purchase online, but hurry, this sale ends April 4, 2010.

Customers who are familiar with this popular sales event will recognize its benefits:

• Deep-discounted round-trip airfare: Just $149.00 round-trip per voucher including all taxes and Reservations and Convenience Fees!
• Flexible purchasing: With Family Ties, you can purchase now without passenger names or travel dates, and schedule at your convenience! Use your Family Ties voucher to fly any time between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011.
• Ability to purchase in bulk: As with previous Family Ties sales, participants may purchase up to 20 round-trip vouchers. Purchasing in bulk means that you may transfer your voucher to any friend or family member for their use at no additional fee!
• Membership: Each Family Ties voucher includes a "Passport" membership entitling voucher passengers to complimentary coach seat selection, reduced upgrades to First-Class 48 hours from departure, and pre-boarding

I can't believe I fell for the promotion. :scared1:
It's usually not like me to jump on a band wagon so fast without humming and hauhhing about it until it's too late , but I just booked 3 vouchers.
I look at it this way, the worst thing that can happen is I'm out $447. :rolleyes1
Then again, If all goes well, lord be will, the creek don't rise and there ain't no melt down...next Spring the 3 of us will be staying Saturday to Saturday in a 2 bedroom condo at the Silver Lake Resort and flying non-stop on Direct Air to WDW for a grand total (not counting Disney tickets or the car rental at Sanford or Ft Myers) of $888. :teacher:
Good luck all,
Joe

Where are you flying out of?

I bought the vouchers in October and then waited for redemption day. My only complaint is redemption day! It is insanity trying to book your flight on that day. Getting through on the phone was very hard (like the day they opened the booking window to 180 days with Disney...busy signal all day).

HOWEVER you can also email a request in and this is how we got our flights. I got the flights I wanted with no issue at all. I got through to them later that day and reserved our seats (which were included).

If you know when you want to travel, book as soon as you can so the flight doesn't fill up. If you book on redemption day, use the email option and be patient.

Oh, and I am traveling school vacation week, so no black out there.

I am buying more vouchers to go back to Disney next year!!! :cool1:

Redemption day came and the request for tickets were submitted. :thumbsup2
Now, we wait to see if the 1st submitted ticket requests will be filled and confirmed. :surfweb:
We hope the company stays in business and their 1 flight takes off and lands according to schedule. :scared1:
Did anyone else submit and survive redemption day ticket requests? :confused3
Good luck all,
Joe

I submitted our requests yesterday morning. Haven't heard anything back from them yet.

Been on hold 30 minutes. submitted a request yesterday am. Friend got through this afternoon...was told by an operator that the system crashed. All email request may be lost...rrrhh.. On hold waiting to hear this for myself. Friend was told that all the Holiday weeks were all gone. I hope this is not true. I hope Direct Air makes the customers happy...the phone was busy the entire day yesterday. They are still suggesting to submit request via email however... :confused3

Update...the drama....in the end had no problem getting my request. My operator had not heard of the crash and doesn't believe it to be true.

Update....friend did not have same luck. She was able to book xmas but only to Orlando. Myrtle and Fort Meyers were not available. One hold for over an hour.
