Direct air! Amex credited our account!

Just a heads up to others who were affected by Direct Air ceasing operations.

We JUST got a notice from Amex that they credited our account for all of our five round trip flights over April break. We submitted our invoices and confirmation the day Direct Air closed. So it took about six to eight weeks.

Hope EVERYONE gets a refund.
 
Still waiting for a refund. We bought the family ties vouchers from a friend who paid with a debit card:worried:

Great news! We also got a refund from Amex for 5 round trip tickets we had booked in July.
 
That is great you also got your refund. Was kind of nervous about it until it came through. You always hear stories of how no one ever gets their money back when a company goes bankrupt, so I am very happy and relieved.
 
Have any debit card purchasers received a refund yet? If so, what did you do to get it? The co-worker I bought my family ties tickets from, only filed a claim with Direct Air. Other people have told me she should contact the bank of the debit card issuer and also the holder of the surety bond (Platte Ins. Co). I'm just frustrated that I can't do the claim myself. :confused3
