Dippin' Dots...

We have a Dippin' Dots at the biggest mall here in Chattanooga, but at Northgate Mall, which is closer to me, they have "generic" Dippin' Dots. Not sure what they're called, but it's funny b/c they're not perfect "dots". It's like Dippin' Dot rejects, lol. Some of the pieces are a little jagged looking. Still taste GREAT!

I'm not a big ice cream fan, but I do love banana split Dippin' Dots!

Lori P. :)

 My sister Mert owns 7 Dippin Dots kiosks!!

I don't know why, but I don't care for them. Maybe it's the way they are presented, but I like my ice cream in a solid chunk (traditional) or in a plop (softserve). Dippin Dots don't do it for me.

I love them!!! We always get a few pouches when we go to the aquarium. :thumbsup2

If I am going to use calories on ice cream I will pick the a traditional ice cream over frozen ice cream pellets. Some flavor like double chocolate fudge chunk chip swirl mousse.

We get them when we go visit relatives in Houston (Deerbrook Mall) or at Typhoon Lagoon (except they call them Arctic Dots). So we're a good four hours away from them.

I wanna move there! I never see them around here unless the Watermelon Festival rolls around or I go shopping. The only thing our McD's serves around hear is the soft serve in the cone that tastes like cardboard :crazy2:

Watermelon Festival? Are you in Richmond, VA or do all major cities worship this oblong green melon?

Pleeeeze what are/is dippin dots:confused3

Little tiny balls of ice cream, they use nitrogen or something to get it frozen that way. They had a show on Food Network - Unwrapped, that showed how Dippin Dots were made. Without giving away the trade secrets.

Oh yea, I just remembered you can buy them in all the rest stops along the way on the Florida turnpike. They come in the pouches, but a small pouch is like $3.25 or something like that. The same amount in a cup at the stores are $2.50 for a small.

I always think eating Dippin' Dots is the closest sensation to putting your tongue on a cold metal post in the winter, a la "A Chrsistmas Story." That little sensation when they are on your tongue and they "freeze" a little bit and stick before they start to melt - I don't think I've ever eaten anything like it. I like them once in a while, but they wouldn't be my first choice.
