Was there a prehistoric/dinosaur ride in Epcot 20 years ago that smelled very authentic? It's not there anymore right? Did Soarin replace it?

You're talking about the Universe of Energy. It's still there, just with Ellen DeGeneres.

Hehe it took me several years to work out where the dinosaur ride was, completely came across it accidentally on our last trip :goodvibes

Just be aware that its around 45mins for the ride. Some people don't realise it takes so long.

We love it though and it gives us a chance to get off our feet for a bit and still take in a ride.

The best part about the ride is the air conditioning.

We prefer the Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom, not to be confused with Dino-O-Whirl.

We don't see this every trip but I've always liked this for a hot summer afternoon get away to escape the heat for 45 minutes while touring EPCOT. The dinosaur part is very good plus sometimes I find myself drifting off during the ending movie part :rotfl: Totally refreshed when I'm exiting :upsidedow

How do you or anyone else know what it selled like back in the day of the dinosaur?:confused3

You will find a bunch of naysayers on the DIS but I think it's still worth putting up with a few too many minutes of Ellen.

It "smelled" the last time I was on it a few years ago, has this changed?

You know, it's sad when an attraction is so overlooked that people think it's no longer there. When I think of all the popular attractions, like Horizons, that were taken away and they allow other attractions which are much less popular to remain, it makes me wonder what they're thinking sometimes.

If you click some of the links in the article, it brings you to a picture page. The preshow with turning picture cubes was wonderful!

We were at Ellen's Energy Adventure less than 2 weeks ago and it still smelled the same to us - sort of swampy.
