what recomendation would you recomend for dinning at the polynesian resort and menu recomendations

We just returned last night after having stayed one week at the Polynesian.:)

Kona Cafe is great! The portions are large (IMHO) and the crabcakes appetizers made a nice-sized dinner for me. (However, I'm one who has to always save room for dessert.) There is also a wonderful seared scallops dish under the main entrees selections.

We had the 'kiddie cone' for dessert. Yummee!:D

Kona has become our favorite in WDW! Weve always had wonderful food and service, plus we love the atmosphere there. We havent eaten at Ohana yet, but after hearing mostly rave reviews, we plan to try it in 5 weeks! ;)

I just made a PS for Kona Cafe for our upcoming trip. I really hadn't even been considering it, though I have read many rave reviews. But then DS mentioned that instead of going into the MK to see Wishes, he'd rather watch from "a beach somewhere." After reviewing the menu on Deb's site, I am SO looking forward to this dinner! Everything sounds so yummy!

Plus, it should make for a MUCH more relaxing evening -- dinner and fireworks from the Poly beach -- than fighting Saturday night crowds at MK! (Thinking of choosing Poly for our next trip anyway -- here's my chance to check it out! :p DH won't even see the "gears spinning" in my head...LOL)

O'hanas for sure. It was by FAR the best dining experience for our family during an 8 day stay. Don't miss it! Or miss taking in the fireworks from the dock.

Ohana's is wonderful. The atmosphere and food. We also LOVE Kona's. Kona's is great for any of the three daily meals. Their breakfast is fantastic and dinner is so relaxing there. I especially love their presentations and service. I don't think you will be dissapointed at either restaurant.

Second for Kona's - great menu, excellent seafood and best service we have had at WDW

thanks

This is a family tradition of ours. Been going every year since the early 90's (used to be minnie's breakfast).

Now it's Mickey, Goofey and Chip and Dale in grass skirts. The kids get to parade around the restaurant to "I just can't wait to be King." It's a great deal of fun! :)

Oh...the food is also good and the service is great too...ALOHA!

Many people seem to just love Ohanas. I've eaten there twice for dinner and will not be back.

The meat was horribly overdone both times, and the service was bad once. The games for the children are interesting, but of course distract the children from eating.

The good news is that you are on the monorail and can easily get to the California Grill, which offers some of the best food and views Disney has to offer. The Grand Floridian also has good restaurants.

I love the Poly, but personally find the restaurant situation there very weak.
