I am going in Nov. with three other people in their early 20's. This will be the first time for 2 of them. I was wondering if the hoop dee doo revue is a bad idea and if the spirit of aloha is a better option. Which has better food? Is the hoop dee doo too corny?

I don't find the Hoop Dee Doo too corny. It was a big "I don't want to go" for our teenage son but he really enjoyed himself and grabbed the washboard at the end so he could play it. I think he even was clapping and laughing and smiling too. It's a show that appeals to all ages.

I don't think the HDD is corny, just good old fashion fun. The food is good there too. I like the food at both but I prefer the HDD.

DBF (26) and I (24) have been to both the spirit of aloha and HDDR. HDDR was more exciting and it was humorous, the SOA was more serious and not as entertaining. We went to SOA soon after they changed it almost 2 years ago. It was ok, we liked the food. The comedy at HDDR is pretty much slap-stick hick humor - very entertaining and HDDR has unlimited beer and sangrias... after a full pitchers of sangria it was a wonderful show. We will be going back to HDDR in a few weeks
