Dinner Reservations early December

We are going to Disney Dec 2-8, 2011 - Yeah! I was first surprised with how hard it was to get a villa. But I get that it's low points and everyone takes advantage of that. I have lots of points so the week was picked based on everyone's work schedule.

What I didn't expect was how hard it is to get a dining reservation! So all the DVCer's are filling up all the restaurants? Really? There is basically no reservation to be had a Coral Reef from 4:30 - 8:30 pm during our entire stay - not even for 2 people! I thought Disney wasn't going to be crowded then? Am I missing something or has the Dining Planned ruined the availability to eat at a normal hour?

Most Epcot restaurants have VERY limited (to no) availability right now because they are holding them back for the Candlelight Processional packages. So the only reservations you may be able to find now are at places that don't have CP packages.

I don't even know what the Candlelight Processional Package is - I guess I better do some research! I am aware of Mickey's Magical Christmas Party in the MK so I'm getting there! LOL

Definitely do some research there is a lot going on during that time period and it is more crowded than it used to be. Favorite time of DVC members, Pop Warner and AllEars fan meet.

I hope you get some satisfactory ADRs. I'm going to be there later that week and just made reservations at Cape May, The Wave, and Via Napoli. I'm hoping to book a Candlelight Processional package for a remaining day.

I was able to get everything I wanted, 10 reservations total, and we are visiting 11/29 - 12/9. I was online making reservations at 6 PM EST. When I went back in to see if there was anything else I might want to swap out (only 5 - 10 minutes later), I noticed there was a lot less availability. I stuck with my initial plans.

I do believe that Candlelight Processional has A LOT to do with it. When CP opens their reservations, you will see some reservations open up. Just be ready to login that morning and make reservations - at 7 AM EST when the phone lines open.

Thanks for all the info. I'm pretty satisfied with most of my resevations, I just really want to go to Coral Reef so I'll keep an eye out for the CP date. I might even want to do that, its new to us!

We are going that same time Dec.3-11th. We were able to get everything we wanted. The only issue we had was with our character breakfast at the Contemporary. We just had to work around what they had available. I hope the parks are light.
