What would you choose for dinner on a Saturday night in January? Choices: Grand Floridian Cafe or O'Hana at Poly. We ate lunch at GFC last year and enjoyed it. We have not eaten at O'Hana for dinner before. Party consists of myself and teenage son? Any opinions?

Because of all the cc guarantees, I'm trying to be careful to not have to change any reservations and risk paying the no show fee.

Have you tried Kona Cafe at the Poly? That's a great place for dinner. Personally, we like the GFC for lunch, but weren't crazy about dinner. O'hana is not our cup of tea, either, although many people like it. We thought the sides were better than the not-so-good meats. If I HAD TO choose between the two, I would probably still pick the GF Cafe.

We have been to Kona for dinner/lunch and breakfast before. I am going to try and have breakfast there (loved the macadamia nut pancakes). I had them for the first time last year:love:

Because we've had dinner at Kona often, I wanted to try something else. I have read mixed reviews on O'Hana so I just can't decide.

I would go for something new and try Ohana. They offer a variety of food (all you can eat!). :goodvibes

Based on what I have read here, Ohana WILL charge you the no-show credit card fee. Since they have a character breakfast, the CC policy is in place for every meal.

From the Disney site listing of Ohana:

Cancellation Policy Updates — Begin October 26, 2011
To ensure consistent Guest service, a one-day cancellation policy will apply to new reservations at this dining venue beginning October 26, 2011. If a Guest cancels within one day of the reservation or if the dining party is a "no show" for the meal, a cancellation fee of $10 per person will be charged to the credit card used at the time of booking.

IMO, this is a pretty strict policy. Most restaurants/hotels allow you to cancel within 24 hours of the reservation. From my understanding, you have to cancel the diining reservation at Disney at least two days before.
