So I really wasn't thinking when I was making my ADRs. The day I am running in the Tower of Tower 10 miler I made an ADR for Boma. Was that a bad idea? I am worried I there won't be anything for me to eat. I really don't want to have stomach problems during or after the race.

Personally, we are planning to do a bigger meal for lunch (Tusker House) and then just having a bagel/peanut butter or oatmeal before the race. We are supposed to be on the bus by 8 PM so I will probably eat the bagel on the way to the race.

Depends on the time, perhaps? The last few evening races I did I had a late lunch around 3 and felt fine at race time. A chicken sandwich at Big River (with a beer). I would not want to do a buffet before a race, I think. I think we start the race at 10?

I'm also running the ToT 10 miler and we didn't feel it was worth it to have an ADR for dinner. We will have a bigger lunch and something small for dinner.

Better off booking a breakfast buffet for the morning after the race! That's what we did for the ToT 13k!

There is nothing wrong about eating at Boma before the race just don't overdo it. I've eaten at Boma before and after a race, however I prefer after the race.

I am not one to overdo it at buffets - I just like to try new things. I would hate to cancel the ADR because I will be with friends and I know a few of them are looking forward to eating there.

Thanks for all the input!

Why not just book extra nights at WDW! That always fixes the problems for me! :rotfl:

Ha! I would but I am going to be there from 9/22-10/1. The family is coming for the first part of my trip then my friends. I don't think DH would be too happy if I added on even more days. I do like the way you think though!

We are running too and have ressies at Le Celier for 4pm. Nothing like a big steak before the race! I am just hoping to have enough time to make it back to fort wilderness to get ready and then to espn by 8:00:crazy2:

I work with a nationally known nutritionist. I had this same conversation with her about me and my DW on pre-race meals for the upcoming Wine and Dine 1/2 in Nov. She explained it like this:

"Figure your normal gun time at 7:00am (for the W&D=10:00pm) and reset your meal pattern to match that as close as possible. Meaning we have Coffee and 32oz of fluid with bagel and peanut butter at 3 hours prior 4:00am (W&D=7:00pm)to race time. Fruit and light carb snacks between 7-10 hours prior 10:00pm night before (W&D=12:00pm), and a "pasta dinner" at 14 hours prior 6:00pm day before race (W&D = 8:00am PERFECT BREAKFAST TIME). Do not try anyhting new or exotic prior to the race, keep meals similiar to your normal to minimize any GI distress and drink LOTS OF FLUIDS. It will be cooler but you'll be sweating just as bad." Her words exactly....

Hope this helps
