Just curious...half of my group of 9 want to go to Ohana's our first night in WDW, the other half, Dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare...
I have resies for both...

Ohana's has the added treat of watching the fireworks from the windows or the beach... any way to view the the fireworks from GF? or is there anything you would recommend seeing at the GF?

We are 4 adults 5 kids 3-15...not entering the park our first night, staying on property, and it's been awhile since I've been to GF...we will be using the monorail for transportation to entertain kids...

O'Hana's is a great place to dine. The food and service are excellent!::yes:: ::yes::

I had dinner on my last trip at the 1900 and was quite disappointed. I thought the selection was small and not that great.

And I'd say the exact opposite. DH and I had dinner at Ohana's a few years ago and weren't impressed at all. My best friends had dinner at Ohana's a year later and also didn't really like it. We've all had dinner at 1900 Park Fare and all loved it. I'd do 1900 Park Fare again over Ohana's, no question.

As for watching the fireworks -- yes, you can see them from the dock area at the Grand Floridian, and it's a pretty good view.

Our last trip we were fortunate enough to be able to do both. We won't be going back to O'hana's but will be visiting 1900 Park Fare again in December. Fairy Godmother in the Lobby for nice chats, photos and autographs. Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Suzy & Perla in the restaurant itself. Food was good. Kids had a variety of items to choose from (not just mac-n-cheese or chicken tenders or hot dogs, although they did have these). The kids actually enjoyed being able to pick from the items on the adult buffet, but then again, they eat fruit and salads, meats and almost all veges. It was our best dinner of the trip--so much fun! And the monorail only added to the night!

At Ohana, only the pineapple and caramel is included - although it is super-tasty!

At 1900, you get a dessert buffet.

I say Ohana's! We started our vacation off at Ohana's in August...and liked it so much, we went back for dinner 3 days later!

I love both these resturants.... my favourites to date.

O'Hana's:
+ Great grilled meats
+ unique entertainment
+ Lots of interavtive activities for kids
+ Food comes to you!
+ All - you can eat!
+ Pineapple and caramel dipping sauce - YUMMY!!!
+ View of fireworks with music piped in as well!!

- Sometimes wait times to be served are long
- Can be very loud
- If you get a window viewing seat of fireworks, be
aware that parents will usually send their kids up to
sit with you. Not very romantic!

1900 Park Fare:
+ Great selection of food... lots of peel n' eat shrimp
+ Service is prompt
+ Excellent Character interaction

- Resturant decor is lacking... a little blah
- Can be very noisy as it is always busy
- Takes a while for Characters to come and visit each
table.

As we travel with a disabled child in a wheelchair, both resturants are extremely accomodating and accessible. DD is also terrified of full costumed characters, but was able to get photos taken with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Mice were told of child's fear and stayed away, but waved at every passing from afar!

I liked 1900 Park Fare better. In fact, we are doing it again our next trip. I thought the food was much better (and better selection since it was a buffet).

Thanks everyone for your replies...
Ohana's is my choice, I think because I really would like to stay at the Poly someday and for now that's as close as I can get.

However, the rest of the group seem to want to try 1900 Park Fare. (the girls outnumber the boys::yes:: )
That's Ok, that just gives me a reason to convince my DH he needs to take me there next year for our 20th Anniversary! :hyper:
