Our family of 4 had dinner at Marrakesh last night. Our original plan had been to graze around the F&W booths, but we were tired and didn't feel like walking about. Mistake. We hadn't eaten at Marrakesh in quite a while, but our previous experiences had been very good. First off, the prices for most things are much higher than in the past and higher than any I saw posted on-line. WDW doesn't even post prices for Marakesh any longer. Second, the menu was much shorter than any I've found on-line, including the official WDW one. We started off with the appetizer combination for two: 2 beef brewat rolls, 2 chicken bastilla, and a Jasmina salad. The brewat rolls and chicken bastilla were nicely flavored but very dry. The pastry on the outside was hard as a rock. the Jasmina salad was about a 1/2 cup of tomato, a few very small pieces of lettuce, and a sliver of a black olive. Yes, one sliver...and a not very good one, at that! The bread that accompanied our meal was very yeasty. Not good but not bad either. Really didn't seem very Moroccan though. For our entrees, dh had the Taste of Morocco- Berber Feast. His was the best of our 4. The price on this was quite different from what is posted elsewhere: $49! At this price, you'd expect a fairly substantial meal. Nope. Just a very small serving of each item. (I'll post pictures once we're home next week.) However, everything was pretty tasty, if a little over-cooked. Ds had the beef couscous. It tasted like overcooked pot roast on absolutely plain (no seasoning) coucous. There were some mushy carrots and zucchini artistically placed on the couscous, but they were cooked until they had no flavor. Dd had the kids' chicken fingers (which ended-up being plain old overcooked nuggets) and Watermelon Delight Fruit cocktail (which tastes like Laffy Taffy). I had the chicken couscous. I was given a sizable portion but only ate a small amount as it was so bland -- as in sick-bed bland. After finishing our meal, we waited 1/2 hour to get our check. This was definitely NOT a memorable meal.

This is our last Epcot restaurant to try and I just cannot bring myself to eat there - I have no idea why as we love Tangierine Cafe. I was going to drop Via Napoli for it next week but I am glad I didnt!

Thanks for your review

I have only been in there to use the ladies room and the atmosphere is beautiful, but the food has no appeal to me at all. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking about reserving for dinner, but won't be anymore!

Last time we dined at Marrakesh was in 2009 and it was fine if a little bland. Sad to hear it's gotten even blander!:rotfl: More and more we're sticking to the resorts for our TS meals. That's a shame!

$49 for his meal? :scared1::eek:

I have always liked the CS meals (around $13) but I have no desire to do TS after that review. $49 alone will stop me.

Just returned and ate at Marrakesh for the 1st time in years. Sadly, I agree, it wasn't good. The service was fine, but the appetizer as well as the kebabs were overcooked. The lamb shank was moist, but the lamb was sparse. The accompaniments were ordinary. The only decent item was the mint tea.
