So we are going w/my lots of family in July, but everyone has decided to abandon WDW for one night to go to Tampa where the Red Sox happen to be playing. I and my DD3 opted out (because why would I want to drive 2 hrs there and back and pay $50/ticket for a game that my 3-year-old daughter will really only last 3 innings for?). So she and I will have one evening all to ourselves - and I'm trying to figure out what to do - so am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a really good dinner-for-two experience, when one of the two is 3 years old. We're already doing a family dinner at Norway for the Princesses. Although I think for our evening together we might end up in EPCOT so something else there would be good. We are staying at AKV, but already have a Boma dinner planned. Any thoughts on a special mother-daughter night?

TIA!

What about going to the magic kindgom and letting her do Fanisty land as much as she wants and then dinner at Crystal palace.

If you're at Epcot - the Biergarten is a favorite of our DS5 - he loves dancing to the band & he gets to eat sausages - what more could a youngster want :)

I would do 1900 Park Fare... its the only place to meet the Prince and what little girl doesnt love a prince?

As the mother of an almost 3yo myself, I would NOT do a buffet as I think that juggling two plates and a toddler by yourself is a bit on the tricky side of things and will not make an enjoyable dining experience.

Thus, if I were at Epcot I would either do Coral Reef and enjoy watching the fish tanks OR I would go to Garden Grill which is served family style so that the food comes to your table rather than you having to go get it.

Agreed! I'm not a fan of juggling buffet plates with our kids, either! Garden Grill would give you the opportunity to sit in one spot with your pre-schooler, let the food and characters come to you and enjoy the changing scenery. It's a great way to meet Mickey, Pluto and Chip/Dale in a relatively relaxed atmosphere. I'm not sure if you can get a booth on the lower level for a party of 2, but if you go, I would at least make that request!

If your in Epcot then Coral Reef,Garden Grill Or Teppan Edo.

If your In Magic Kingdom then, Crystal Palace or CRT

If your in Hollywood Studios then Sci-Fi

If your just open for any area then, Ohana or 1900 Park Fare

I am a single mom and buffets are easy as pie dont let that be a factor. wherever you guys go you will have a ball

We took my granddaughter when she was 4 to the Garden Grille. She thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a lot of character interaction. And the restaurant turns. And as one poster said they bring the food to you and you are not juggling food and your child.

I would do the 1900 Park Fare Dinner hands down! It was a magical evening for our family and I think it would be something very special for a Mommy Daughter dinner! It is at the Grand Floridian (you could both get a little fancy if you'd like, she would be right at home in a princess dress here) the dinner features Cinderella, Princes Charming, Lady Tremaine and the step sisters. This was the best character interaction we got by far! The step sisters are a riot and kept us rolling! Cinderella spent a fair amount of time with us as did Princes Charming.

You could request a table near the buffet (which is closest to the characters rotation so you would be waiting on them as much) and I'm sure if you ask your waiter to have a CM help carry plates back they would be happy to help!

The only downfall to this is you may be spending so much time taking pics with the characters, getting autographs and watching the step sisters your food may get cold. It's worth the hazard to me!

Have a magical evening together! :wizard:
