DD is a picky eater. We think we'd like to try "Ohana for dinner but I'm not sure what she'll eat. She does like wings (sweet honey BBQ) so perhaps she'd like their coriander wings. Does their taste at all resemble a sweet bbq flavor? She also likes plain steak with A1 sauce. How is their steak prepared? Would it be possible to request A1 sauce? I know she won't like the bread pudding dessert but if she eats the wings and steak I'll be happy.

My kids ate the regular food the first time because i didnt know they also served kids meals there. The second time they had their regular chicken nuggets & macaroni & cheese so you can always just go to the regular kids food if you need to.

DD is 17 so if I'm paying $31 for her meal I'd like to eat the regular food. I'm just not sure if it will be worth our while or $$$. She'll eat plain steak with A1 sauce and sweet bbq wings so I'm trying to find out what their steak and wings are like.:confused3

Wings are sweet like a honey teriyaki. The steak was plain. I don't remember seeing any A1 around though. There was also plain pork and turkey on the skewers. She can request plain vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce on the side and skip the bread pudding.

The meats brought around on the skewers are all served plain - you decide what to put on them, and how much to put on. So your daughter shouldn't have a problem here. Ohana is a great choice! It's one of my three favorite restaurants.:)

The most expensive PB&J uncrustable EVER. We began w/ the kids meal of nuggets but she would not eat them, then off of our plates, and then I begged for a PB&J so we could enjoy our meal.

I have 3 picky eaters and they all LOVE 'Ohana. We've done it for a few years now, and never had a bad experience. It seems that my kids have never left hungry!
My favorites are the steak, and the noodles. I also LOVE the bread pudding with foster's sauce. It is incredible! My kids, who don't like bread pudding even eat it. But if by chance your dh doesn't like it, she can just have vanilla bean ice cream with Mickey sprinkles that always comes along with the dessert. YUM!!
My kids always seem to gravitate toward a type of meat, usually the steak. They have 4 different kids of dipping sauces to try with each meat, along with ketchup (and I'd assume steak sauce) if you ask. The noodles are a hit with the boys too, as they are just basic. The broccoli never goes over big at our table though! :confused3 The wings are alright, but somewhat sweet for my taste. They also have dumplings that are quite good.
I do believe though, that if you ask, you would be able to request a kids meal (like chicken nuggets or mac & cheese) but remember, it may take a LONG time as ours did one year at Biergarten!
And I forgot to mention the salad and bread to start with. Not a big hit with my kids either, but my dh and I enjoy them.
Good luck with your choice! 'Ohana is definitely our favorite place to dine at WDW. Ask for a table with a view of the castle....REALLY neat experience.

The great thing about Ohana is that they bring the regular items, they bring the kids items and then everyone eats whatever they want. We have a picky eater who only eats kids items, another who eats both, and a little one who is still figuring out what he likes. The kids' items have always arrived at the same times as everything else, so if you do decide to get a combination, that should not cause a delay. Also, I don't like spicy wings (prefer sweet BBQ) and I liked the wings at Ohana. And as previous posters have mentioned, the meat skewers should be great.

Have a great time!!

We ate here in Dec..and honestly it was the worst meal of the week. :sad2:
To be more specific and answer your questions...The wings were SWEET...too sweet in our opinion..no BBQ flavor to them...just sweet. (Did I mention they were sweet:rolleyes:).
The steak...all the meats tasted the same to us...smokey and dry. Not sure if they have A1 sauce...but the steak definately wasn't 'plain'. I think it will be either she loves the flavors of all the meats, or doesn't love any of them.
Honestly, based on your DD preferences, I wouldn't pay the $31 to eat there.

We had a horrible dinner last night too.. It was such a disappointment. We have eaten there for years and it was never like this.

Really? We ate there two weeks ago, and the food was fantastic! Oh, and yes they do have A1 steak sauce - the table next to ours had a bottle on it. :goodvibes

We also had a horrible meal there on our last trip! My whole family has decided to take it off of our list for dinner. But, to answer your question, my kids hated the food on our last trip, the wings, the meats all of it. The wings were not tender at all and the steak was cooked rare! We requested med-well steak and it was still rare! They hardly ate at all. I didn't realize at the time, that they had a kids option, but from what I hear, they can order chicken fingers and such as an option.

Ohana haters here too! My kids hated it, I hated it, DH hated it and he eats anything. I think it's overpriced and overhyped. The meat was tough, the shrimp was not deveined . We are also taking it off our must do list and trying Kona for dinner this time. I refuse to pay for poopy shrimp. :rotfl2:

We loved O"Hana last January and found the food plentiful and delicious. Two of my boys ordered children's selections while one ate from the regular menu. Everyone enjoyed the veggies, bread and noodles. The steak and pork were really good but the turkey was a little dry. I didn't try the shrimp but my husband really enjoyed them. We loved the dipping sauces. I found the staff were very accomodating and did their best to ensure everyone had a good meal.

A separate dessert was brought out for the boys (ice cream with sprinkles) and my husband and I gorged ourselves on the bread pudding. Yummy!

All three boys enjoyed the strawberry smoothies and we LOVED the Lapu Lapu. We can't wait to go back on March 16th!

Hope you have a good experience!

Susan
