I was thinking of dining at Boma on my next solo trip. Does anyone have any experience of dining solo at a buffet? Do you worry that the busboys think you left when you are at the buffet and clear your table? Do you leave something on the table to indicate you will be back? I'm probably being silly, but I've never tried a buffet solo. Thanks!

I leave my silverware on the napkin, and if I have a bag (no valuables) I'll leave it on the chair. :thumbsup2

Then they usually just clear the plate and used napkins for me until I get back. :wizard:

:tinker:

Its usually pretty easy to see when someone is just doing a round at the buffet and hasn't actually left. I never leave my bag but I do leave a hoodie, or sweater etc on the back of my chair, I leave a book on the table and I place dirty plates to one side while leaving a napkin and cutlery ready for my next round of food.

No matter where I am when I dine at a buffet, I leave something personal to indicate I'm coming back, usually my sunglasses, or old keys that go to nothing that I keep on a keychain in my purse for just this situation, etc.

Ditto- I leave my empty bag. Now that we have the magic band, I rarely carry anything of value, but I have done cruises solo as well and if you don't leave something you can lose your table. when I have soloed and eaten at a buffet at Disney, it has not been a problem as the waiter knows you have that table, but I like to leave something to make it clear I am coming back. Never had a problem

I've never done a buffet at Disney, but I've done buffets solo nearer home. I won't leave anything I'm not willing to lose at the table, but I'm in the habit of bringing a paperback book whenever I know I'll be eating alone. Since I get my paperbacks used at the annual library sale, it's no biggie to leave the book on the table, and that makes it really clear you'll be back. My book has never been stolen when I've done this, but if it was it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Boma's is my absolute favorite place and like others have mentioned I too will leave something behind like a jacket or hat to indicate that I'm coming back. I've never had a problem.
