Dining & show times

I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the answer!

If we have main dining, what time do we see the show? Is it the 8:30? I can't imagine dinner being done in 1/2 hour!

For those with 1st Seating

• 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. — Dinner in one of the three rotation dining rooms
• 7:45 p.m.-8:15 p.m. — Family shows in various lounges
• 8:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. — Show in the Walt Disney Theatre

For those with 2nd Seating

• 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. — Show in the Walt Disney Theatre
• 7:45 p.m.-8:15 p.m. — Family shows in various lounges
• 8:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. — Dinner in one of the three rotation dining rooms

The end times shown are approximate. Actual end times may be slightly earlier.

In addition to the family shows, there are other scheduled activities between 7:30 pm. and 8:30 p.m.

Instead of thinking of it as 1st Seating and 2nd Seating, think of it as "dinner first" or "show first."

Hi Werner Weiss, can you give me some examples of "family shows"? Which one will you recommend? Coz' I am not sure if my young kids have the attention to watch two shows in one evening.

On the Disney Magic, we enjoyed different 7:45 p.m. shows almost every night. We saw:

• Family cabaret shows in Rockin' Bar D, featuring a variety entertainer from the big variety shows — such as a magician, juggler, or ventriloquist
• Family game shows in Studio Sea — usually involving Disney trivia, with fun interaction between the cruise staff and audience members
• Family dueling pianos shows in Off Beat — with two pianists performing audience requests and interacting with the kids

Off Beat no longer exists. It's now Diversions. And the dueling pianos are gone. But I hope that the ship still provides several choices for families each night at 7:45 p.m.

These shows were lots of fun for all ages.

Depending upon the age of your kids, they may like the 7:45 to 8:15 "inbetween" shows more than the main theater show (except for Disney Dreams and Hercules and Golden Mickey's). They are close to the performers, they get to yell and scream at/with the performer and many kids get to help out in the show. These are some of the most enjoyable shows on the ship. The shows are great for the kids and will keep the adults entertained too (something Disney used to be very good at).

I would try to do both and have the kids come to both.

Disclaimer: If your children are under 7 they probably will not enjoy the welcome aboard and farewell variety shows (the main show) as much as the other main shows in the Walt Disney Theater.

We saw two of the family shows on the 11/08 Magic. Rich Pupura who is a magician, but realy more of a comedian The other guy was a comdedian/ventriloquist. Both were wonderful no matter,what age you are!!
