So you want Animator's Palate twice? Ask for that.
The reason not to ask for a specific rotation is your cruise may or may not have RAAE as a rotation. It could end up being EAAR or RAEE or such. So asking for what is important to you within the rotation is the better request.

We have a specific rotation we like on the Dream (ERA) and always request it with our TA. We have our first 4-night next year on the Destiny and we requested Marvel/Pride/Pride/1923, but we also specified we wanted to end in 1923 in case the rotation is not available.

You can request to visit a specific restaurant 2 times (on a 4- or 5-night cruise) or 3 times (on a 7-night cruise).
You can request to visit a specific restaurant on Pirate Night or on Formal Night.
You can request to be assigned a specific server (if that server is on the ship).
Those requests work because they would apply no matter what order the restaurants are in and when restaurants repeat in the dining rotations on your particular cruise.

Most specific requests, such as to visit a specific restaurant twice in a row, or the same restaurant on the first and last night, are less likely to be honored because the rotations on your cruise might not allow for them. For example, if the rotation is 1231 or 1233 and you request RAAE, your request can't be granted because no one will have the same restaurant on the 2nd and 3rd night.

Yes, it can. Even on 'standard' sailings sometimes things get switched up. That's why it's best to ask exactly what you want (as @lanejudy ) suggested instead of trying to guess or engineer it. If you want to be in a certain MDR twice, say exactly that. If you want to start in a certain MDR, say exactly that. If you want to be in a certain MDR on Pirate night, say exactly that. And really pick one thing and ask for that-if your request is too broad or you try to ask for more than one thing that aren't both possible, DCL may not know which one to prioritize and then you don't get either/all.

On a 7 night cruise you'll dine in each dining room twice, and one of them 3 times.

I'd suggest you request "Coco 3 times".

Typical rotation for a 7 night (at least Eastern Caribbean) is 1231231. The 'middle' instance of MDR #1 is Pirate Night, and you get two 'specialty' menus then in each MDR (and eat in MDR #1 three times). As previously noted, though, don't count on that exact rotation. So ask for exactly what you want (if it's Coco 3 times, then just ask for that).
