And, here we go...
November 16 - MGM Studios
This is the day that DF had been waiting for.
We had lunch ressies at 50s Prime Time Cafe and showed up about 1/2 hour early. They were able to accomodate us right away. Our server wasn't one of "mom's kids" but was visiting as a babysitter from next door. I found the whole thing really cute and funny. It was fun to see how the kids around us reacted to their parents getting in trouble. I would definitely come back again. DF didn't really know how to react to the whole thing, but gradually warmed up to the whole idea towards the end.
The food was great. We split the Herbed Cheese (which is very very yummy) and also the Fried Chicken and the Smores Dessert. The Fried Chicken was very good and they served it on two plates for us, we were very glad that we split an entree 'cause two of them would have been way too much for us, even with our hearty appetities. The Smores dessert wasn't my favourite. It seemed too sweet (and I have a sweet tooth!) and chocolaty... DF and I were talking about it and agreed it might be better to eat if they used little marshmallows instead of big ones.
I give 50s Prime Time Cafe:
For Dinner, we went to the ESPN Club. The service was the worst that we found at Disney, but they were very busy. We had several mixed drinks which were all pretty reasonably priced and good... my favourite was the "Powerplay". We also shared the Macho Nachos which seemed kind of small to us... so also ordered some Dingers after that... no matter where I'm eating... Dingers are some of my favourite! DF loved the atmosphere (of course!) and we would return again. It was an overall fun night.
I give the ESPN Club:
November 17 - Epcot, Beach Club, DTD, DisneyQuest
We spent the early morning this day at Epcot and then headed straight to Beaches and Cream for lunch. I heard so much about it and had to try it... so, I got a single burger, and DF got a double burger. I also got some Chocolate Coke... which is yummy. These burgers were a little on the fast food side but we enjoyed them very much. I would go back for a fun little meal but didn't end up ordering a dessert... we'll have to try the ice cream some other time. I'll remember to save room! This day, they were obviously overstaffed but were still friendly and our refills on our drinks were remarkably on time, they were so on top of things, even though it seemed hectic for them. I even overheard one staff member saying they were short some employees. Cudos to those staff!!!
I give Beaches and Cream:
In the evening, we headed over to DisneyQuest and then on to Earl of Sandwich for the first time. We each had a sandwich... and DF had a baked potato which was really good.
Even though we didn't seem to eat much this day, we were both very full and spent little money. The sandwiches were a great idea.
I give Earl of Sandwich:
November 18 - Departure
Before we left this morning, I had to get in a Mickey Waffle. So, we headed over to Olivia's at OKW (our resort). Until then, I hadn't been very impressed with the food service at OKW (Good's to Go) and had my faith renewed a little. I had the waffle with pecans and DF had the Two Egg Breakfast. It was a very good value, and we weren't hungry again until late in the day. For Splenda users, I did notice that this restaurant did not have it, only Sweet N Low.
I give Olivia's:
