Just back after Orlando's 2nd rainiest June on record (lucky me!). Despite the rain, we still had a great time and enjoyed lots of great WDW food. Here's a review of where we ate and what we thought.
Publix grocery store - stopped here with TTC and picked up breakfast food, snacks, drinks and supplies for a spaghetti dinner in the room. I love this grocery store! If/when I move to Florida, I know that Publix will be my grocery store of choice.
ABC Commissary - 50 minutes for counter service?!?! Horrible wait time and lots of chaos and disorganization. Thank goodness my fish and chips were good, but definitely not worth that kind of wait at 7 pm.
Toluca Legs Turkey Co. - after waiting in line 1/2 hour my friends were told "Oh, we're out of turkey legs and won't have more for at least 1/2 an hour or so." My friends were not happy and had to wait somewhere else for another half hour to get a hot dog.
Electric Umbrella - my mom, sister and niece ate there and were served quickly. They all said the food was good.
Kaki Gori - new place for me. Boy, did that shaved ice taste good on a 90º day. I had the rainbow with all three flavors. Very good.
Le Cellier - I got a take out order of cheese soup and breadsticks one rainy afternoon. Mmmmmm were they good!!!
Refreshment Port - another very long wait. My sister was in line ~ 45 minutes for 2 orders of fries/chicken nuggets.
Sunshine Season - very nice changes. One afternoon I stopped in and got a fruit and cheese tray and an orange creme brulee. Both were very good. On my last day we went ther for lunch and everyone in our group got the kids meal "build your own sub". It was a small sub roll with cheese and lettuce on it. There were a few slices of salami and a good sized pile of shaved turkey breast. It came with applesauce and a kid sized drink. It was all very tasty and quite a deal at $3.99.
CRT - we went her for the princess lunch and all had a great time. The food was very good. I had the salmon and my mom and sister had the foccacia sandwich. Our waiter was very into his role. He called us all "m' lady", except my niece who he called princess. She insisted that we all call her Princess Aurora the rest of the trip!
Main St. Bakery - my first time having a fresh ice cream sandwich and it sure was good. The ice cream wasn't hard enough though, so it quickly melted into a puddle on my plate.
Columbia Harbour House - I had the fish meal and it was delicious. Quick service and hot food.
Beaches & Cream - my lunch one day was a No Way Jose sundae. Believe me, it was worth every calorie and gram of fat!!
Boardwalk Bakery - while walking from Epcot to MGM, I stopped here and got a tiramisu to eat on the way. It was delicious and I'm sure negated the calories I burned while walking!
Garden View Tea - me, my mom, sister and niece went here for the afternoon tea one day. It was a very nice experience. I had the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea (which was soooo good, I made a trip back to GF later to buy a tin of it). The grownups had the Buckingham Palace Tea and my niece had Mrs. Potts Tea (substituting iced tea for the chocoalte milk). I'm glad we planned this as our lunch. There was so much food and everything was wonderful. It was very relaxing and a nice "girly thing" to do.
Goods to Go - boy, do I love their conch fritters! We had a few other quick meals here while hanging out at the pool and refilled our mugs several times.
Olivia's - we had breakfast here one morning. Food was served quickly and everyone liked what they ordered.
Everything Pop - I had a kid's meal breakfast (either ºoº waffles or chocolate chip pancakes) here several times. Plenty of food to start my mornings at the pool and served in those adorable ºoº plates (which of course I "had" to wash out and bring home!). I also had a few dinners her. My favorite was the parmesan crusted chicken. Very good.
Earl of Sandwich - I had The Original, which was very good and in Disney terms, quite a bargain at $4.99.
Ghiradelli's - I had a coupon for a 1/2 priced sundae, so that was my dinner one night. Very good, especially for only $3.50.
Wolfgang Puck Express - I love their mac 'n cheese! I got the kids mac 'n cheese meal and a creme brulee. Both were excellent.
Bongos - my friends bought my dinner here one night to thank me for getting them my AP discount on their room (what are friends for!). I had a late lunch, so I wasn't real hungry. I had a side of beans and rice and a side of fried plantains. Both were seasoned very well and were very large servings. We traded bites of food and everything was delicious. I will definitely be going back here again.
Cheesecake Factory Express - a HUGE piece of carrot cake that was sooo good.
Leaning Palms - I had a chicken wrap here that was OK. Not much chicken.
Whew, this was longer than I thought!! If any one has questions, please feel free to ask. I work out every day at home and eat very healthy. I didn't work out while in WDW (although I brought my clothes, just in case I had time - haha!!) and did not eat healthy by any means. I "allowed" myself to gain 5 pounds during my 12 day eating-palooza. I gained 3 pounds, but it was sooo worth it! We started going to WDW regularly ~ 10 years ago. I think that the quality of food they serve has drasctically improved over the years. A big part of our trips is experiencing all the culinary delights that WDW has to offer. Hope my reviews were helpful.
