We will be at WDW from Jan 20 - Jan25. There are 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 7). I have not made any PS.

A couple of questions:

1) If we decide in the afternoon that we want to have dinner at a table service resteraunt can you call 407-WDW-DINE for same day reservations? At some point is it too late too call 407-WDW-DINE or does the PS "show up" immediatately at the restaurant?

2) Are there any another ways to get a same day PS?

3) If you are a walk-up and there is a wait, say 1 hour, do you have to stand there or can you leave put down your name and come back in an hour?

4) What are typical lunch hours and dinner hours at the TS restaurants? Do they close in between or does it just depend on when you are seated whether you get the lunch or dinner menu.

1. The PS will show up immediately on the restaurant's computer. However, some of the restaurants will print out the listing and the person at the podium may not have an up-to-date list. Normally in this situation you can ask to have a manager check the computer.

2. Guest services at any of the Disney hotels or parks can make reservations directly for you. A few years ago there was a method using the pay phones in the park to call Dining Around The World at no charge (I think it was *77, but not sure).

3. You do not have to wait there, but if you leave and they call your name they might cross you off their list. Also, in very crowded times they will tell you they are not taking walk-ups.

4. The hours will vary by restaurant. Generally they will have at least an hour and a half between the last lunch seating and the first dinner seating.

That helps - I am pretty clueless about disney dining!

Thanks!

It is never too late in the day to make a PS. We wanted to have lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe one day and the guard wouldn't let us in with out a PS. We pulled out of the parking lot, called Disney Dining, made a PS for 5 min. later and went back to the GF with PS number in tow.

The problem with doing this is that it is hard to get the time you want. Day of reservations will often be very early or very late. Early may work for you, but with young kids, I wouldn't think you would want late.

Anyplace you really want to dine, I would go ahead and make a PS now.

Have fun!
