I have two different dining questions, what is a good place to eat on DL property, as in the hotels that has good food and also a quiet atmosphere where I could take my friends for a nice dinner but also a chance where we could talk and don't have to yell over music.:goodvibes

Also what is everyone's favorite character dining at DL?? List your top three please and why. Thanks so much.:goodvibes

Our fav place for dinner is Napa Rose in Grand Californian hotel, comparable to some of the several fine dining at WDW. The Steak house 55 at DL hotel is good also. Yamabuki and Storytellers (can be loud) are just ok.

As for the Charater dinning it has been a while since we did one of these. Both DS are older now. Storytellers breakfast is good. Never been to this, but Goofy's Kitchen always looks busy.

Hope this helps

Well, there's only 4 character dining places at DLR, so listing the top 3 won't be that helpful.

My favorite is Storytellers Cafe (breakfast only for characters). I like it because it has the best food (can order off the menu), best ambiance (less chaotic than the others), and best service we have experienced at DLR. The characters you might see there are woodland creatures: Chip, Dale, Koda and Kenai, Timon, Meeko, Brer Bear, Baloo, Pinnochio.

My least favorite is Goofy's Kitchen. We had a horrible experience there and won't go back, ever.

Thank you both for your input. I am also curious to hear more peoples opinions. Thanks all.:goodvibes

We really liked the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at the PP hotel. We tried it because we were after the elusive Daisy autograph!:rotfl2: We've eaten at Ariel's Grotto (just okay) and Goofy's Kitchen (one great experience, one horrible experience).

We have only done a character meal at Goofy's Kitchen in recent years, and that was for dinner just last month. It was a fine experience, and we were all pleased with the food and the character contact. I would like to try the Storyteller's Cafe character breakfast next time we are there. We have eaten dinner there and the food was quite good. (They also make a gluten-free pizza there, which was great for my friend's daughter who has to avoid gluten.)

We have never done a "quiet" meal so I have no words of wisdom on tht subject. I have seen the Napa Rose featured on some Food Network show and it looked pretty good. But, honestly, I don't go to Disneyland for "fine dining" experiences. I can do that closer to home!

My favorite hotel restaurant is Yamabuki, Storyteller's Cafe runs a close second.

My favorite character meal is breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe. We just tried Goofy's Kitchen for the first time in about 15 years and it was disappointing... not horrible, but not even close to great.

We did Goofy's Kitchen last year. It was fun for my son....lots of photo ops and were very pleased with the character interaction. The food was ok.......nothing great but typical for a buffet. I barely ate though...seemed like so many characters came just one after another I barely had time to eat. They kinda seemed to wanna rush you in and out, at least that's the feeling I got. I'd love to try storytellers. Anyone have price info on that?

Same goes here, but we have had 3 bad experiences. I have no idea why we went a 2nd and 3rd time:eek: But I swear we will NEVER go back. Bad food and horrible character interaction.

We loved loved loved Minnie and Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn in the park. Good food and we saw SO many characters. I think the key is to be in one of the first seatings or the restaurant will be more crowded and you won't get as much time with the characters. Also Goofy's is SO expensive for dinner $36 for adults and Minnie's breakfast is only $24 for adults. We spent $90 for dinner for 2 adults and a child at Goofy's kitchen, that was with our AAA discount and our breakfast was only $56 with a discount.
