Are the Cm's very knowledgable about what will work on the dining plan? At counter services is there a chance that you could get to check out, and have things not covered? Is it up to them if I can get a frozen lemonade for dessert instead of a piece of cake? Or is it completely up to the computer/register? I'm excited to be on the plan, but don't want it to be a hassle everytime we eat. TIA.

Two CMs working cash registers right next to each other can give you and your spouse different answers to the same question. It happened to us. At counter service in the parks you typically order and pay before getting your food, so you're not standing there with food that you learn is not covered by the plan. At the resort CS you may find yourself standing at the register with a tray of food and wanting to put something back when the cashier tells it's not covered. If there's no line you can ask them questions about the plan before getting your food.

The CMs are great about helping you...just ask if you are not sure. It is (sometimes) up to the CMs as to if things are covered or not...such as drinks at some TS...for example...some will allow smoothies, shakes (considered a specialty drink) while others will not...plus, one day you might get that specialty drink covered at a particular TS rest. and the next day at the very same place they may deny it to you under the DDP. Your best bet is to simply ask each time...then you will not be disappointed....however, on the bright side...I found that they like to accommodate you when they can. Have fun and each much!!

Yes, we also found that each CM answered the questions differently. Your best bet is to check before you get into line with your food.

I still don't understand why at Pop we constantly had to get 2 drinks with our breakfast platters? Why couldn't we get a banana, fruit cup or cereal and a drink? Makes no sense to me. :confused3 We ended up with a lot of extra beverages because of this.

one thing you should be aware of is that the cm will automatically give you a medium drink but if you ask for a large that is also included in the CS credit.

This is nice to have if the weather is very hot.

To avoid any hassle, just ask about anything you are unsure of before ordering. We have had the DDP 3 years in a row now. They have certainly ironed out a lot of kinks since 2005, yet you can still get different answers from different CMs-yet not nearly as often as in 2005 and 2006! :upsidedow

Not always...I know in the description, the dining plan specifically says medium/regular drink...a few times we have asked for a large, we were told the DDP only came with a medium/regular size...most places do not stick to this policy, but some do...not trying to argue this with momof2disprincesses, just want to make sure that some people are not too disappointed when they get a CM that refuses them a large drink.

You need to tell them what "credits" you want to use everytime you get CS or a snack...THEN, make sure you check your reciept to make sure it has been coded or deducted properly...you need to keepup with how many of each ts,sc,s that you have total and how many you are using each time you get to the counter...I have heard of mistakes and more mistakes...but you can always get them corrected when you get back to your resort...It won't be a hassle if you just stay on top of it...

ALSO, check for the snack thread to find out all the yummy things that qualify for your snakccredits every day!
