I am doing the regular dining plan. We have quests staying with us from florida for 2 days. If I upgrade to the deluxe dining plan can I use my credits for their dinners. Anybody do this and does it work? If not, we will just pay for their dinners and get the regular dining plan as we always do.Thanks for any input.

it should that u can only pay with the dinning plan for as many as there on the reservation

Credits can only be used for those named on the Disney resort reservation, so it's not going to work. Furthermore, you are limited in the number of meals to redeem at a restaurant by the make up of the party that is on the resort reservation. For example, if you're travelling party was 2 adults and 2 children, the KTTW itself would specify 2A 2C. This would limit the server to only being able to charge up to that amount of credits on the card.

I have used the Regular dining plan many years with just hubby and I. Since I am having 3 more quests that night staying over in our room just to visit. with no dining plan and no tickets for the park. just quests, I was just thinking about upgrading to the deluxe and using my credits for that first night dinner. But as I read what you wrote I will only be able to use 2 dining credits per dinner. BUmmer. As I paid for this plan, who cares how I spend it during the week!LOL I guess Disney does. so Now I will go back to my regular dining plan for the 2 of us and just pay for them at dinner. either way I will spend money to give to disney. Better yet I will pay for the dinners using my visa rewards. just thinking how I can get around this dining issue.

If I do not use the dining plan and pay reg. will it still be the same cost? Like Trails end stated $35.99. will that still be that if no dining plan is used for my 3 quests?

You said it in your last sentence about getting around the dining issue. Disney has limits since the Dining plan can save you money. By upgrading to the Deluxe plan and using it on others, it would save you money and cost Disney more for your guests.

As for your Trails End question, the price is the same whether you are on the dining plan or not, so the cost per person is the same.

Sorry, but as noted here, WDW specifically states in the dining plan literature that you cannot use the dining plan to redeem meals for your guests. It is the policy of the restaurant board that posts discussing how to get around the rule are not allowed.

I agree. Just want to do the right thing and not get in trouble. NOt get down there and get dienied when paying or using the dining plan. so with your help I have figured out what to do. Thanks for your input. I will stick to the regular disney dining plan for us two and pay on my visa for the other quest dinners that night. anyway, that deluxe dining plan just has to much food for us to eat.
