Dining Plan ? w/DS12

I have looked for the answer to this question, but have not been able to find it.

It's just me (mom) and DS12 who will be traveling to WDW. DS12 is on meds that pretty much kill his appetite. He's not a picky eater, just eats lots of little meals through out the day. Am I able to just get the dining plan for me, and then pay for what he wants when he's with me, which might just be a salad or a side dish of something.

We often share meals or share an appetizer when eating out at home, and that's usually more than enough to fill him up. I don't mind paying for the Dining Plan for him if I have to, just know he won't even begin to use it, and I'll still have to buy him snacks or whatever through out the day.

Everyone on your package (i.e., everyone in your room) has to be getting the same thing...so unfortunately you would have to buy the dining plan for your son.

HOWEVER...the credits aren't attached to a particular person and you can share meals (as long as it's not at a buffet/all-you-care-to-eat...which doesn't seem like some thing that would work well for your son's situation anyway!). So with some extra planning, you could share a lot and be able to make use of his credits...I'm thinking some signature dining or a show would work well for you...if you're set on the dining plan. Certainly don't need to let the credits go to waste---you can use them how and when you want to

Thanks for clarifying that for me - everyone in the same room has to be on the plan together. Perhaps we can just share several meals through out the day...and use up our credits that way.

I'm not that crazy about buffet's anyway, but if there is one that we want to go to, I don't mind 'wasting' his credit. I just hate to waste food all the time. But, it sounds like maybe just eating more often, and sharing would be a better option.
