Hi all hope you are having a great weekend.

I am itching to get my new ticker for our 2013 trip but just a few questions before we book.

We will be staying onsite at disney and will get the free QS dining plan and we want the DDP I know you can upgrade here before you go but can you do it once you are there and does it work out cheaper as it will be in dollars?

Thanks

Sarah xx

I know that you can not add the dining plan when you arrive, and I am pretty sure that you can't change it on arrival either.

As far as it being cheaper because it will be in dollars, I don't think that will matter. Either way your going to be affected by the exchange rate.

as far as i know, you can only add on or upgrade your dining plan 5 or more days before the date of your stay. (or maybe it's 6 or more days before).

Thanx for the replies.

Hmmmmmm will have to have a think do we really need to upgrade, we coped this year with the qsdp and next years trip is an extra disney trip we hadn't planned on.
Maybe just stick with the free dining and go all out in 2014.

Hmmm decisions decisions :-)

if you want to upgrade has to be a min of 3 days before check in. to do with the computer system they use

Personally think it stopped being really free a couple of years ago.

I agree its not free but its still tempting.
I have been adding the figures from our last trip, 10 nights offsite, for meals, soda, snacks & tips we spent approx $40pppd. For 3 of us thats £75/day & offsite hotel I paid £36/night = £111/nt
Next year OKW is £138/nt = £27/nt more & approx $10 extra tips.

So around £30-35/nt more to stay at OKW compared to a standard offsite hotel room. Not as cheap as past years but still not a bad deal. I just don't think I can book before the free dining ends.

Think we are just going to stick to POFQ and the free QSDP you get.

The extra cost to upgrade to the deluxe dining plan is not worth it we would not spend that amount of money if we pay out of pocket to eat in the table service restaurants we want.

Will be booking through disney next week sooooooo excited

Now I'm just trying to work out flight deals and if we should go for miles plus money but at the moment its only saving us about £30 so not worth the miles.

Hmmmmm Im new to all this booking separately but have learnt my lesson after booking with VH last year and paying way more than we should.

Just my 2 pence worth, but we have had 3 stays with the regular DP (free dining) and on our last trip we stayed at POR and only got the QS plan. We really considered upgrading to the regular plan but decided against it. WRONG CHOICE!!! You don't need to upgrade to the DDP, because honestly that's just too much food anyway, but we HATED the QS plan. We got really fed up eating fast food all the time. Take my opinion for what it's worth to you, but I would NEVER get the QS plan again!

I would always upgrade to regular dining plan too, cant ever see us doing counter serbice plan as we like a sit down meal etc
