Looking at a short trip possibly getting the QSDP for 2 adults and 7 yr old niece. HOWEVER, she may end up not going at the last minute, we arent 100% sure. IF she doesnt, we may have a 14 yo nephew come instead, again, last minute. Can we (or he) use her meals or snacks via her magic band if she isnt there?? (We get a discounted QSDP and since the kids price isnt real high anyway we wouldnt be out too much. If we could use a couple of her meals and snacks we would be ok)
I know this would have been simple with room keys but now with the bands,.....

Basically my question is : can an adult walk up and use the band of a 7 year old to order meals? Theoretically all the meals should be on each band but does the kids age come up with the band?? Hope that makes sense. We are still paying for the plan but knowing who is going will be very last minute, too late to make all the changes.
Thanks!

Since you don't know if the niece will be going, you could always hold off on putting her on the reservation and then adding her at the last minute if she is able to go. Disney does charge a $50 change fee for any changes made 44 days or less prior to arrival, but this fee is usually waived if the total cost increases. You would, however, have to add her at least 3 days prior to arrival as that's the latest the DDP can be added. I don't think the nephew would be able to use the credits as he is considered an "adult" and while I don't think the band shows the actual age, it will show that they are child credits (which is age 3-9).

I thought the computer didn't keep track of which were kids meals and which were adult for the quick service meals.

It doesn't. You can send an adult to order for all members of your party. Should you follow the rules, yes....but is there a loop hole? Yes. I've even had CM's tell me to order adult instead of child.
