For those of you who have done the dining plan..........

Did you do all of your sit-down credits as dinners?

-or-

Did you throw in a sit-down lunch or breakfast or two to break up the week a little bit and not have that feeling that you have to rush to an ADR every night?

We did a couple of lunches as TS meals and a couple of dinners as CS meals -- just to do things a little differently.

We ended up using most for dinner, but did use them for 1 lunch (Le Cellier) and 1 breakfast buffet (Boma). Worked out well for us.

We did all of ours for dinner, although we did CRT for breakfast. We paid for that out of pocket because it was going to be the least expensive meal for us and we had one more TS meal planned than we had points to cover.

That said, for my next trip I am planning at least one breakfast on the dining plan, and possibly a lunch instead of a dinner. We will approach it differently because we'll have the kids with us. While you get more "value" with using TS at dinner, at some point I think we'll all get over that. In my family, we just tend to have our large meal in the evening (even when we're not at WDW!) I think it would also make a difference depending on the time of year you went. (In the winter, with the parks closing earlier, you might be even more inclined to use TS for dinner, leaving the parks at or near closing and having a late dinner to maximize park time.) Just my thoughts . . .

Thanks for sharing.

I was just thinking it would be nice a couple of the days to be at a park in the morning until you have a sit-down lunch there. Then go take a break at the resort. Then go back to a park and have a CS dinner whenever you get hungry.

DH and I did a character breakfast and used one of our TS credits....we did 2 TS meals that day and 2 CS meals the last day!

We did some ts lunches while we were there and we really appreciated the break in the middle of the day, when the park was busy.

I am planning to use TS for breakfast at Cape Mae's and Chef Mickey. We are using one TS for Sci Fi for lunch (or might switch to Primetime and have dessert at Sci Fi if I can figure how to fit a dessert in!). I decided to pay OOP (approx $150 for 2a and 2c)for Hoop so we could have a TS everyday. We are going for 10 nights (although I may add one more day...) and I thought we may crave a good breakfast. Planning for the DP has so fun but making me crazy as well! Good luck.

We used 2 ts for the Hoop Dee Do Review, we used 1 ts for LTT for lunch and one ts for Breakfast at the Crystal Palace. The rest were ts for dinner, we ate CRT and Teppanyaki. The rest of the time was used cs for breakfast and lunch and dinner on the 2 nights we had no ts planned. With 2 adults and 3 kids, we still left with 12 unused counter services and 8 snack credits.

We also used a ts for a character brkfst at ohana. If we had a big breakfast we would either skip lunch and have a snack. Also, we had some late adr's for dinner -we would have a counter service late lunch. We also had one dinner at counter service. We did use all of our dining plan credits. :wizard:

We used 1 TS for lunch in Morocco. All are others we used for dinner, but that is how we eat at home. We like an evening sit down meal.
You should plan to use your credits however it best suits your desires. If having a sit down lunch in the park before a mid afternoon break is what appeals to you, then go for it!! The flexibility of the plan is one of its nicest features. You can make it work for you!
