Dining Plan Question

I have read all of the threads on paying OOP with the dining plan but my question is diffrent.

There will be 4 adults staying at Disney on the dining plan so I believe our key cards will state 4A. The day we arrive at Disney (Saturday) my sister from the Orlando area is comming to visit us and will be leaving later that night to go home.

My question can we treat her to dinner Saturday night? Use 5 TS credits at the Kona Cafe?

She will also be comming to meat us that Friday to go to MVMCP. Could we also treat her to a dinner at the Concorse Steakhouse that night?

Just wondering if anyone has recently done this.

You can use your credits on anyone at any time while they're valid (eg up to 11:59pm of the day you check out.) If you have sufficient credits (you're splitting credits somewhere or paying cash elsewhere or whatever), there would be no problem.

If you're "short" on credits you could split a meal somewhere (We had no problem sharing one adult dining-plan meal between two adults, and even fed the little kids off those meals too!)

Not if they aren't on the plan. I believe the OP said this was somone just visiting with them, and they aren't part of the dining package. Only the people that have paid to be on the plan can use the plan. That isn't to say that some CMs may let them get away with it, but it is definitely not allowed on the plan.

I'm not so sure,... what if it was "my" plan and I had 5 credits for TS and I ordered 5 entrees at the same time in the same restaurant,... my credits would be gone for the remainder of my trip. I think credits are credits no matter what. Food for thought?

Again, I am not suggesting that there aren't ways to get around the rule. However, only those paying for the dining plan are allowed to use it. Plus, in many restaurants, they know how many people are in your dining plan party by the information on the card, so if you try to use more TS vouchers than you have people in your plan, the computer will indicate that your order exceeds the number of people in the plan.

I have the same question that I posted on another thread. We want to use 6 TS credits 2 four us and 4 for our kids who are going to be at DW with the HS band. Will they see the 2 adults on the plan and only let us charge 2 dinners instead of 6? This would not be a problem in planning if the meal we planned on using the 6 credits on was at the beginning of our stay but we wanted to use the credits at the end of our stay. If they will not allow us to use the 6 we will have 4 TS credits left over and I would not want to walk away leaving those on the table!
