Dining plan question...

I know they do it for the number of nights you stay - so if you are there for 6 nights the dining plan is 6 days... but is it dated? like on your arrival day you may just get dinner and departure day you may get lunch... Which days is it for? ALso for one day if we plan to go offsite to Universal studios can we take those meals from that day and put them on another day?

Your meal credits are issued at check in and they are good until midnight on the day you check out....so if you wanted to you could eat all of them in one day (not likely but possible!!)

If you are staying 6 nights you will recieve 6 sit down credits, 6 counter service credits and 6 snack credits....you can spread them out any way you please, however any used credits will expire at midnight of the day you check out.

If you are staying 6 nights you will be there at least part of 7 days....however you still just get 6 meal credits (of each type), however since you are doing 1 day off site you should still have plenty of credits for your first and last days.

It says over 100 restaurants - is there a list somewhere? Is it pretty much most of them?

We are debating whether to add this or not.

Also when made reservation for fantasmic dinner at holly wood and vine.. the cm had asked me if I had the dining plan .. So I guess you can use a voucher for the H&V Fantasmic dinner?

Ooops I forgot that you have to pay for it upfront with your package. I think I'd rather just wait so we can save up that extra money :) We'll just budget $35 per person a day.

Depending on where you choose to dine, $35 may not be enough. Though the plan costs that much, it is sometimes, and I think often, a money saver. If you plan a counter service lunch and a sit down dinner and a snack each day it will often run you more than $35/day. You may want to check out the menus at www.wdwig.com to get an idea of what you will realistically spend. If you do mostly counter service or share meals, it may be under $35 but if you like full meals it can run more. Good luck with your decision!

I just noticed AFTER paying for the dining plan that neither restaurant - table or counter service at CSR is on the dining plan! So this means we would always have to eat away from the hotel. I sure don't understand why they are the only resort with no options. Before we paid, I checked for the main restaurants we wanted like CRT and Chef Mickey's, but completely took for granted the resort restaurants. We're trying to figure out now what to do about this and how big of a deal it will be.

FYI: even though it wasn't listed in the brochure we ate at the Pepper Market using the MYW dining plan in January.

Thanks so much for letting me know! That makes me feel a lot better!! :teeth:
To make yourself feel even better you could always call the CSR restaurants directly and speak to the managers who will confirm what you need to know.

We were told by the manager at Pepper Market the day we used the plan that we were the first to use it there. Initially at checkout the cashier said they didn't take it. Luckily the manager was doing something with the cash register and overheard our conversation and said, "sure we take it here" and ran our KTTW cards through very simply. I don't like to think what might have happened had he not been there.

Hopefully they are working on ironing out these types of kinks to this plan.

Here is my full MYW dining plan report if you'd like to look it over:
