Dining plan question

We (me, DH, DD14, DD11) will be going to WDW in March and could only get free dining for March 24 to 29. I am planning to get room only res for March 23 and 30 (both Fridays). All of us are Disney adults. So, since both DDs prefer kids meals (yes, still!!), is it possible to pay oop for couple of the table services for them and then use the other tablet service credits in another restaurant? When is the last day we can use these credits since our package ends on March 29 (is it the check out time or that night?)?

Please don't flame me as I am not trying to do anything not allowed.

Since I am already asking questions, may be you can answer another question:
I reserved 7 day park hopper tickets which will be activated on March 24. Could we use the last day of the ticket on the 30th?
Thank you in advance

You only need to do the room only reservation for your first night. Once you start on the DDP, it will continue through the length of your stay even if your last nights are not during the free period. The rule is you have to check in during the period, so theoretically, someone could check in on the 29th and still have free dining through their 7-night stay even though those dates are not during the promotional period.

Yes, you can pay OOP for kids meals and use their credits for more TS meals.

Your park tickets will need to be attached to your second reservation, but you can pick them up early and start using them. If you have a 7-day ticket, you should be fine through the 30th as that is only 7 days. Not sure I understand that question, but if you mean do you have to use them 7 days in a row....no, you can take a day off in the middle if you want.

Your meal credits will be good through midnight on your check-out day which I assume is the 31st.

^^ Yep, and to emphasize, you only need to make that room only for the 23rd. Your package promotion WILL carry over until you check-out, regardless of the actual offer dates.

As far as the tickets, the best way to do what you need to do is get tickets to cover the number of park days you're planning, regardless of the different reservations. When you arrive on the 23rd, head to a park or DTD and pick up your package tickets early. Yes, this is perfectly allowed. Yes, the phone CMs may tell you it's not.

So, if you're arriving on the 23rd and leaving on the 31st, this could be up to 9 potential park days. If you're planning a break in the middle, that's fine too and you don't have to buy a day for that... um, day. The tickets, once activated, are good until 14 days later or you've used up all the entitlements. This same deal applies to upgrading tickets too, so if you do decide to add a day, make sure to do it before the end of your last ticketed day!

Cafeen and sharonabe, thank you both. Your posts were very helpful. We are getting very excited and picking our Table service restaurants now.
