I'm about to spend 10 nights at Disney on the DDP and I'm concerned about the kids menu choices.Do I really want them eating chicken fingers or mac and cheese for 10 days?Appreciate any input

They have some other choices at different restaurants. The kids can always eat some off of your plate. There is plenty of food. We bumped my 9 yr old to a 10 yr old last year for the dining plan. We thought he would need more food. We were wrong. In our 10 day trip he only ate off of the adult menu twice.

My daughter will be 9 tomorrow, so we'll be missing the adult plan for her when we go this fall.

She doesn't eat the things that Disney considers kid's meals (mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.) She likes steak, lobster, shrimp shrimp and more shrimp. Last year we ate places where she had different options. She got a steak at Yachtsman's, steak at Jiko and a steak at Narcoosee's. (she also ate MY lobster tail at Narcoosee's. :) ) She ate well (prime rib if I remember correctly) at Boma (which is a buffet.) She also helped out eating my appetizers when I had scallops or shrimp.

When making this fall's ADR's, I checked to make sure the kid's menus either had a fish or steak option for children, and we also have about 4 buffets scheduled (out of 20 table services.) Out of all of those there were maybe two where I don't think there was anything "acceptable" for kids (for us) but on those she can eat off my plate, or I'll buy something extra if needed.

I am going to move this to the Dining Plan Forum. :)

http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm Allears has all of them menus listed out. Check the kids menus there.
A lot of places have 1 or 2 choices that are not the pre-set combos. I have seen steak, chicken breast, and fish as choices. There are plenty of choices that are not the standars nuggets or mac-n-cheese.
Have fun!
:)

Only you can decide what's best for your family of course. But, I will add that last August my then 8 year old DS was on the kids' plan and NEVER had chicken nuggets, mac & cheese or PB&J the entire week. We did do several buffets and 1 family style ('Ohana) so he was able to eat a lot of meat/ seafood. Also, as a PP mentioned a lot of places have fish or steak on the menu. I know DS had kids' salmon at GFC. As far as CS, I know he had fish & chips in England, pizza at Pizza Planet, fish one day and pasta another at POR. Can't remember the others. And SC are the same for everyone; he loved his Dole Whip Float! Of course, there is plenty of mac & cheese out there. It is DD's favorite food and she ate it whenever we let her.;) But, it's certainly avoidable.
